    Guam hotel question

Sounds like Kevrumbo has several good ideas. There are several hotels in Tumon. The Hilton is on the south end of "hotel row" not that close to restaurants, etc. Look for something on the north end . Closer to shops and restaurants etc.

Trip Report December 24-31, 2017 Palau Trip Report

One thing that might be important to remember when considering a liveaboard vs. hotel is the travel time to the dive sites. If you stay in the Koror area...your average time to the sites is about 45 minutes there and back. Be sure to pack a light rain jacket. The boats speed along at a good...

    Solomons itinerary?

Lived on Guam for 7 years. You can fly to Palau from Japan. There are several good Palau/Yap posts on this board. Check with United to see if they still have the Yap/Palau connection. There was a post recently that they had cancelled it, making it a requirement to access both islands via Guam...

    Solomons itinerary?

I had worked on planning a trip for over a year...but the $$$ was proving to be just too much for our budget. The fact that places like Munda only have ...what...just a few dive operators...make the prices out of my budget at this point. If you have $$$$$$ to spend it will be worth it. No other...

Something special at Something Special !

What a joy to see this manta just cruising stern side of the sailboats at Something Special. We totally loved our two 85 minute dives at this site. DSC06694.ARW by jorgie6 posted Nov 18, 2017 at 8:00 AM

Bonaire 11/26-12/10. Prep for rainy season?

Perfect timing on this post! We leave Saturday November 11th. Looks like some rain in the forecast. Actually don't mind the rain clouds too much. Much better for UW flash photography. We were there this past June...lovely ,sunny days..but the bright sunshine and white sandy dive sites proved to...

YAP & PALAU - UNITED GIVETH & UNITED TAKETH AWAY

There are several good Yap threads on this site. We've "done" Yap three times...our family lived on Guam for 7 years..so we really dived just about every location in Micronesia more than once, sometimes 3 or 4 times. It was always our kid's favorite destination. We always referred to Palau as...

YAP & PALAU - UNITED GIVETH & UNITED TAKETH AWAY

Nope...the Island Hopper is still going strong! My husband and I flew the IH back to the states from Guam a few years ago..one of the senior flight attendants still had her Air Micronesia bag. :-)

    Palau Hotels

Walk over to Kramer's ...we enjoyed our meals there. A little farther away in Koror proper... check out the Emaimelei Restaurant and Bakery. It's behind the big WCTC (Western Carolines Trading Company) building on the main drag. Good local joint, reasonable prices (for Palau). Emaimelei...

    Truk/Kosrae/Pohnpei

If you're hoping to see Mantas on Yap...mating season is December to April/May...depending on the time of year they switch and dive from either the southern or northern sites. Check on the tides and lunar calendar as well. We always dived Yap in November...not prime time for Mantas..but our...

Anyone flown with Solomons Air or Air Vanuatu?

In the process of planning a summer 2018 trip via Fiji Airways from LAX to the Solomon Islands via Nadi Fiji then on to Vanuatu.
