i just came back from diving balicasag island and we took the tour of the mountains in the main land of bohol. i actually saw the man made forest and asked why is it man made? just fyi - for whatever it's worth. the reason was, 70 years ago the boy scouts planted the trees to protect the village...

i was looking at both, hiring a private guide or a tag along/local buddy that we can just dive with. if we can't get a local buddy to guide us. we're probably just gonna talk to the local dive shop, get a briefing rent tanks/weights and go explore.
most of the time when someone post up or comes...
My friends and I (7 of us) are doing a couple of dives while in town. We're going to do 1 boat dive and a shore dive the following day. If anyone wants to lead a dive and take bunch of guys from SoCal for a shore dive, holler! We're all safety conscious divers and out for just fun dives...

i went to bohol, alona beach a few months back. i didn't see any inappropriate and shady stuff in the island. as a matter of fact, everyone there in alona was very respectful and polite with the tourist. i'm sure it does exist, i see posters in the airport about warnings and where to report if...
redcat255: just relax and see where it takes you. i was very apprehensive of diving when i first started and probably the worse student in my class. i didn't think i was going to complete my class. after i got certified, i just kept diving and diving and more diving. until i became better and...
if you ever find your way to bohol - alona beach. i highly recommend sierra madre divers. they don't have much internet presence in SB but you can find them in facebook. my wife is also a beginner diver > 20 dives and she was very comfortable diving with them. they have regular dives to...
So we started our trip from LAX to MNL, stayed for a few days in Manila. We flew to Bohol from Manila on May 13 - 16 2013. My wife and I stayed in Amorita resort in Alona beach. It's worth every penny of it. The service, food, private transfer from airport to the resort, the accommodation was...

we're going to reserve at amorita ahead of time to be on the safe side. my wife really wanted to stay there. any reason to book dives ahead of time? or not really? i have been talking to a few dive ops there. haven't made any decisions who to go with yet. they are all helpful and have good...
