Has anyone used doc's pro plugs?

Simple fact, they work and work well....I have no trouble clearing without them but a couple of years back I tried a pair of my brothers to see how they work....I found that in the cold water I was diving in it was easier to clear so I started diving them all the time....I did not use them in...

Full foot vs open heel for current

Full foot fins will give you all the power the fin has to offer...freediving fins are great if you have the legs to power them....you must have not know how to use the FF's as they work very well in current..at least for me they do... Yarg

    bungie heel strap

Before the bungee's came out, I installed silicone tubing to my FF's, actually better I think, they adjust to whatever footwear you have on automatically and it is quite durable, it has been on them over 10 years and still going strong. Yarg

    MIFLEX Hose Failure Mode

Most hoses will fail at the hose meets metal crimp area or in the swivel of the metal. I just replaced a 6" HP that was leaking actually in the hose itself, the brand new 6" leaked right off in the swivel....none of these caused an aborted dive just a bit of concern...I have only had one hose...

I have dove both islands, T&C on a liveaboard and St Lucia just last month... T&C from a land base will involve some good runs to get to West Caicos where the better diving is...it is wall with an approach area from the island that runs 60-80 ft...good dives, chance of seeing big things...St...

    Private label production regulators

I service regs....and can dive any brand I want, I dive "private label" regs as they are as good or actually better than the majors which are at a much greater cost....my personal fave that I have been diving and very purposefully not cleaning and in general abusing, if you want to call it a...

    "Miflex" hoses

I have used the hose on my rigs both Rec and Tek since they became available in the US...a superior product, no problems with the scooter either....they save about a half pound for a travel rig which is not much but the packability is way better than a traditional hose. No hose protectors...

I am your foot size and use a large....barefoot I use the pads... Doc and myself were on the Avocet yesterday 6/1 with Capt. Kevin on the "holy Spear-it"....the whole Gulf has this thick green funk down to about 25 ft right now, once you get below that it clears up with the vis about the typical 30-40...I was using my X scooter with the CSI but couldn't get...

Recommend your FAV DIVE OP near Pensacola

Your biggest boats will be the H2O Below via MBT and the Wet Dream via the Scuba Shack, both good ops with the H2O being the one I use. Several smaller boats are available and can be found through MBT, overall this part of the gulf has some good ops. A lot of nice sites other than the Oriskany...

    Overfills on steel tanks

All my tanks are LP and I cave fill them all....except for the 72's, I may go over just a tad but they are old and they scare me to jack them up like my others, also I use my overfilled tanks soon after the fills and don't like to have them sitting around like that.
