    Kudos Huisch and Suunto

On a recent trip to Belize I was about to dive in when I realized my Suunto D9's battery died.... Like any savvy diver I figured that I could change my battery myself. Despite the warnings not to change the battery yourself because it will leak and void any warranties, I tried and it leaked...

    Canary Islands

I just dove with Dawn Divers located in the H10 resort at Playa Blanca, Lanzarote. Thomas was awesome with arranging personalised dives. They gave 1 on 1 guided shore dives. To be clear they were not the typical dive master safety net dives. They expect you to dive within your ability and are...

Bare SB Drysuits back in production

Sounds like I am better off not returning my original SB and continue to wonder when it is going to have a catastrophic failure or at least wait for the third generation. Very disappointing.

New diver help--I can't stop floating to the surface!

The deeper you go the easier it will be to achieve neutrality. The 7mm suit adds lots of buoyancy due to the trapped air bubbles. If it is a new suit it will loose some buoyancy with some dives. Don't overweight and never hold your breath. Be sure to know how to ditch weights if you need to...

Bare SB Drysuits back in production

I sent my SB back because the zipper cover delaminated. They sent it back with glue leaking out around the flap and looking as though a six year old had done the "repair" they sent me parts I did not order and not the parts I did order. I informed them of my disappointment, I was told that the...

    Great Blue Hole

Know your limits and dive within them. Don't trust your life to some one else. Educate yourself about what could go wrong and plan accordingly. This goes for all diving, wether it is to 130ft or 30ft. Be smart and be safe. That being said, the best part of that dive is the first 30ft, where...

    Diver missing - Grand Cayman

I dove Grand Cayman 2 years ago and found the op I went with very safety orientated. The DM gave a detailed plan with visual aides. There was always a leader and a follower (usually 2 followers) and the DM was always the last out of the water. Head count was by roll call. And despite a very...

Article: Aerobic Exercise Improves Mental Performance for Divers

As ever your zest for good health and better diving through exercise is well received. Thank you for the words of encouragement. Dave (Cobalt Coast 2012)

Bizarre: Diver blamed psychological effects of a drowning accident for paedophillia

Tongue in cheek comments aside, I think cases like this alert us to the fact that pedophiles can be anywhere and I appreciate all the efforts of Scubaboard's moderators to keep the forums free from such vile material. As a diver a conservationist and a medical professional I choose to...

Bizarre: Diver blamed psychological effects of a drowning accident for paedophillia

Some scientists suggest that Seven billion people on this planet might be too many. I think we should ask those people who hurt children to leave our planet. There is no excuse some people are just broken and so far no one has figured out how to fix them. I may be a pessimist, but I doubt...

    Screwed knee = screwed diver???

Thanks guys. Your advice and encouragement is appreciated. TSandM you are absolutely right. At first glance it does seem I only have bad luck. But this latest break meant I couldn't work again and knowing that I had more time off, my fiancé finally admitted she needed me to join her (she is...

    Screwed knee = screwed diver???

This year just keeps getting better. I fell last week after getting some snow off of my car. Re injured my knee and added a broken ankle to the mix. Looks like my dive trip next month is off... Oh well there is always next spring.
