    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

Anybody know the vis at the bridge today? I'm thinking of diving it tomorrow, but based on Johnoly's description from Saturday if things haven't improved it isn't worth going.

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

Covered in algae. Lot's of fish, not much in the way of critters. I think that will come after the coral, sponges, and other life get established. It was a good day to do them though. Last time we tried we couldn't find them all in the poor vis. This time it was easy to go from one to the next...

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

We did the bridge again today. 77 degrees and over 40 feet of vis in the clear areas, with the bad areas being about 15 feet. Over 25' average. We did the new trail and the East side today. LOT's of fish, many full size and of course lots of juveniles. Great day to be diving!

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

We were on the west side. Last time we saw more on the East side than I saw last night, but they seem to be everywhere. ---------- Post added November 29th, 2012 at 12:30 PM ---------- It was cool. It was the first Stargazer I've seen. But I wish my GoPro had been on at the time. It...

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

We also did the bridge last night. It's hard to tell the vis in the dark but most of the time it was great! Force E said divers reported 40 feet on the morning dive, and in places it might have been that. It was well past my lights. Vis was knocked down a lot in areas by a couple of...

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

I stopped in at Force E this morning and they told me a snorkeler had dropped in this morning and said he couldn't see 5". That was before the tide change, but the water coming into the inlet is murky also, and offshore is still really bad. They suggested waiting a few days and then checking...

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

We're also waiting for a report from today. We plan to dive it tomorrow and we'd dive it in a milky 10 foot also, but less than that probably isn't worth the drive. ---------- Post added November 19th, 2012 at 03:41 PM ---------- I called Force E a little while ago. They told me that the ocean...

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

My wife and i also were planning to dive the bridge Tuesday. We also would like to know whether it's worth the drive or not. If the vis is 5', I don't want to go.

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

Yes we noticed that also! Most of them were "dating" that we saw during the dive.

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

Did our first night dive on the Blue Heron Bridge last night for about 80 minutes. Had a great dive, pretty good vis for the bridge with 20ish feet average. 79 degrees, only a mild current under the bridge itself. Saw lot's of Sea Robins, dozen's of small rays, several barracuda including a...

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

Hi Jim, It was very nice meeting you and the "chicks" at BHB on Monday. We especially want to thank you for all of your advice on how we should do our first dive on the bridge. We had a great dive and can't wait to do it again. Unfortunately we can't do it again until at least this weekend, or...

How many SP-350 users out there?

Both my wife still use ours, and we both have a backup camera as well as one backup housing (Oly). I saw what was going on ahead of time and planned ahead so I wouldn't have to buy again until I find a better camera that fits it's category. I still haven't found one I'd buy unless I had to.

Where do I find the deals?

I've used B&H, Adorama, H2OPhotoPros, and Reef Photo. While all of them were good, the prices usually vary. Sometimes one has the highest price on one item and the lowest on another. Often they run specials and if what you want is on special it can be a real deal. However I can't say enough...

    Thinking of moving to FL

My wife and I are looking into retiring early and moving to FL next year (or possible elsewhere in the Caribbean). We're avid divers here in S. CA, but love warm water even more. One thing I've been wondering but haven't read yet is how is the diving year round in S. FL? I guess from what I'm...

    American divers living abroad?

Hi Roger & others, I am also looking at similar locations as you so I'm very interested in all the input. I see a couple of answers suggesting the Philippines, but I don't think I'm interested in moving there. I have a friend building a home in Bali, Indonesia, but when I visited there...

Saturday August 1st Malibu Beach Clean-Up

Going off topic for a moment, I've been interested in taking a Lightroom class. Can you give me any details about it? Thanks, Wally

    My camera keeps getting Fogged!!!

My suggestion is to buy a soft sided cooler (WalMart has them for about $12). Pull the stiff insert out. For the boat put your camera in that before and between dives. Cover it with a wet towel between dives to keep it cool and to keep it from drying out (don't want salt crystals to form). DON'T...
