Fair enough, I'm not grinding through anything where my umbilical would be exposed to damage in such a way. Maybe that will change in the future.
Also removed the bottom attachment of the wing in favour of a bungee loop. Less clutter on the crotch strap that way.
Free flowing could be fixed by making sure it's tuned properly, or setting the adjustment lever to negative before swapping second stages.
Picked up some H-75p/Halos for a stupid price, clocked in noticeably lighter than my Apeks regs. I can also spin the turret a full 360 without catching the...
How much weight do you need?
The largest XDeep spine weight + 2 pockets on the waist belt either side of the spine weight fits enough weight for me and 2 buddies.
I have used a weight belt with sidemount before in a pinch and it was a little... crap.
I use Garry Dallas' Slipknot method for loop bungees, and there's a knack to getting loop bungees on with drygloves and thick liners.
Practise makes perfect.
I had my mitts on these in the UK a while ago, didn't get to dive them sadly as Super isn't being released until 2025 according to the rep I was speaking to.
They're inbetween the RK3 and RK3HD weight wise, and stiffer than the base RK3. The tip still flexes and snaps back so I suspect those...
I only really use the drop-Ds for my pouch and the occasional reel/camera/video light mod as and when.
I think I'm going to adjust it so it sits a little further up my back, the switch sits just under + behind where the wing bungee starts so that's easy enough to locate + operate.
On the...
If I'm not using suit heating I'll buttmount it and run the cable(1.5m with 90degree elbow) up the left side of the spine (XDeep Stealth Tec) and over the shoulder + down the arm.
If I am using heating I've taken to mounting it between my drop D ring and the hip D-ring that I attach my RH tank...
I'll have what this dude is having, it sounds powerful.
1.) How much of a difference does it make with back strain?
Quite well provided you lift things with appropriate technique. The ability to don/doff in the water is excellent and the lack of a rigid backplate most people find adds to the...
My motivation for taking Cave1(RAID) is:
1.) I want to see some cool wet rocks.
2.) The skillset + attention to detail will filter down into the rest of my diving and reinforce stuff I teach to future students
3.) I want some peace & quiet
This thread has been enthralling.
'Grats to the OP...
Ah, I miss the days of crunching numbers in EFT to squeeze the most EHP and DPS while keeping things affordable (Pirate life). Those were the good old days.
To the OP: Probably not, though it's a good option for those with bad joints/who struggle with the weight of doubles.
Yeah, after years of the Z-manifold seeing them promote single tank sidemount as 'simple' but stopping just short of the same thing for double tanks was a bit funny.
AG seems happier now he's moved on and is having some success with his SA themed restaurants, am still a bit sad UTD made all of...
Would like to collect a couple, if I can get my mitts on a UTD-Z wing from the good old days of AG's near daily uploads that would be grand.
Same for an old Nomad, be good to show prospective students the different flavours and where ideas converged/diverged throughout the last 20+ years.
