We have not seen anything like that with our 550s, but have had (twice) one of them go into an altitude error mode (on a dive boat at sea level) unexpectedly. Aqualung is not answering multiple emails and my LDS who is an Aqualung dealer says there is no RMA process available.

It is important (I believe) that when you rinse your camera that you actuate the buttons. Diffusion of salt in water is slow (10^-5 cm2/sec) so actively push buttons and turn wheels to help the salt water get out of the holes where the buttons go through the housing.

I thought so too, but my AOI is about the same (maybe a bit heavier) weight underwater than my Nauticam system for the EM1-Mark III. I was surprised but if you look at the housing there is really no air inside, the nautical has a bit more trapped air.

I have been shooting the AOI for the OM-1 for quite a while (I was a real early adopter). For macro one of the 30,45,60 or 90 lenses (or all of them:p). The AOI port for the 90 is awesome as it lets you change magnifications on the fly). I think a lot of modern thinking is that it is better to...
The 12-50 fits in the same port as the 60 macro. If you have the zoom ring (I didn't) then you should be fully set. Before jumping in, I set the zoom to about 15-17 mm and the mantas were pretty easy to shoot that way. The 8mm fisheye will be tough unless the mantas are right on top of you.

This is confusing some of us. If it is an OM systems camera it is either an OM-1 or OM1-II. If it is an EM1 then it is Olympus and if it is an EM-1 Mark 1 it is quite old now (2013). I suspect it is an OM-1 but you should clarify if you really want a housing for it.

My comment about the complication is that the engineering effort is substantial and I am not sure how many folks use the lens a lot. I have it of course but hardly use it and find that it isn't wide enough for wide nor macro enough for macro. On the backscatter site they show the port for the...
Have you seen the Nauticam port, it is ridiculously (even for Nauticam) complicated since it is not just a switch (AOI makes a port that can address the switch on the Oly 90) but the whole lens has to slide forward, while depressing a button.

I think you are stuck, I don't think there is an adapter to use Nauticam ports on AOI and if there were it probably wouldn't allow the port to line up well with the lens switch.

I have done some blackwater (OK Lots of Blackwater) with the 30, the 45, the 60 and one dive with the 90). The 30 is the easiest to. use, focuses fast and is quite sharp. I like the 45 (same port as the 30) but it will not speak RC mode so flash is manual. When I use the 60, I keep it in the...
Certainly not by Radio (I think that would be quite difficult). On land you use the built in flash (if your camera has one) and external flashes. Underwater you need a FO cable to the strobe. The R in RC means remote I think, not Radio.
You can "see" the string of low power flash pulses that...
I am not sure that for most focus lights, you could actually see the focus light in a flash lit photo at least if the flash is working. My guess is that the strobe is at least 5 orders of magnitude brighter than the focus light. The issue of using your strobe as the focus light is that mostly we...
