Who is riding trimix dil all the way to the surface and who is flushing to a nitrox dil?

When you switch dill to Nitrox, your PDC immediately assumes you don't have He in the loop, but you are off gassing He into the loop. Therefore I believe it is most conservative to stay on your bottom dill. It also doesn't impact deco much. If your switching dill and not switching your PDC...

Any other CCR's with Solid State O2 Cells yet?

Bluetooth does not work underwater, pressure transmitters are ultra low frequency. I believe there is a company (Rhino?) making a wireless PPO monitor.

Any other CCR's with Solid State O2 Cells yet?

I recently got the notification that the cells and conversion are available for the Sidewinder. I tested one of the OS cells in a pressure pot in witch I use a standard Petrel to read the cells. It's pretty much perfect up to 2.0. I've sold that cell and plan to get one directly from KISS so...

    Bungee type in cold water

Sorry, that was a really weird typo ("Bungee"). I'll be able to get a pic today. Edit: @Wibble already posted his pics. Side benefit is not having the bungee Knot digging in your back.

    Bungee type in cold water

@Wibble turned me on to his solution. Knott your number up front and use the tails the grab and pull the loop. Sorry, I don't have any photos handy.

    Failure points vs redundancy

If your brain is the most likely thing to fail, is adding another brain just adding a second most likely thing to fail? Does it double safety or double risk? :stirpot:

    Razor 4.0 v xdeep tec 2.0

Not quite as you don't have access to the inside until you cut the hole. I also aqua seal these while I use silicone on the dry suite.

    Razor 4.0 v xdeep tec 2.0

Didn't take me long without one to decide it was worth it to cut a hole and add a bit dump to mine.

Question Is AOW a waste of time?

Skip the certs and gear. Spend your $500 to have James Mott give you two days in the pool. Now you no how to practice. Then dive as much as you can while saving for the gear and training that will lead to your goals. PS: Anytime anyone from UTD says anything about deco theory, put ear...

Question What is one of your favorite pieces of gear, and why?

Recently did 5 hours on OC. I'm thinking the silence of my rebreather is really nice.

    To Nerd (or not)

The depth sensor issue is real, but Shearwater covers it. I think my dive team has taken divetronics loaners on three separate trips due to failed sensors. I now run a standalone Perdix, Petrel, and Nerd 2 because of it. All that and I hate diving without it. It does still work a a hud when...

Question High Altitude Athletes.... Less efficient at depth?

I've theorized about smokers having reduced CO2 sensitivity. But I think there are other factors. Most smoking divers with great SAC rates I run into are from a generation when smoking was more acceptable and therefore have been diving a very long time. None smoking divers with similar...
