What is your favorite "Rig.? B.C. BP/W Horse Collar or ?????

To set the stage, I'm a tech diver type, but only if I need it to get somewhere neat. I started with a jacket bc, then moved to a bp/w. I've since tried sidemount, but it wasn't for me. My favorite by far is bp/w, but if I'm diving stages I dive with back mounted doubles with stages slung in a...

    Wanted Oxy hacker

I do own a copy, and looking through his latest revision I do think that the extra bit you'll pay by buying from him directly is worth the new content. I don't own the latest edition, but can see some things that look pretty worthwhile in his change summary.

How to recover missing dive details after upgrade to Windows 10?

I could swear this has been asked and answered here before, but for some reason I can't find the old thread so sorry for the repeat. I just upgraded to Windows 10, and also updated SW Desktop. After the change I'm missing all the log details like dive site, location, notes, etc. on the last 15...

    Valve Id?

I'm wondering if you have a manifold of mixed heritage. Crossbar and knobs are obviously Scubapro. The valves themselves look more like old Dive Rites. The threads would be compatible, making it a viable theory. Also, the Scubapro valves had a rougher finish to them (they would match your...

    Fog science

I'm with OP, I want to know about some masks. I have one in particular that has the best fit and field of view of any mask I've tried, but the thing fogs like there's no tomorrow! This is not my first rodeo with masks, and I've owned a number of them and had no fogging issues that the proper...

    Regulator Roundtable Q&A

Rene from Scubapro told us in a repair course that the best performance in cold water was to be had from metal air barrels, but that polymer orifices resisted freezing better than metal ones. So, metal air barrel, polymer orifice.

Harbor diver body recovered - Maine

**IF soldsoul4foos is correct: Failure to lock out, tag out. The commercial diving equivalent to not dropping weights in terms of dying for a stupid reason. He was in a grey area that's regularly argued about whether it's commercial/recreational diving. Whatever you call it, some familiarity...

    Getting Forced to Bottom: continued

Part of the problem is that the blue arrow does not appear on these video ads. When I right-click on the video the only options I get are Flash specific: "Settings..." "Global Settings..." The ads are as you said targeted ads, and not objectionable for content, simply objectionable the way...

    Video Ads making me sad

Today I started having an issue where a video ad plays at the very bottom right of the page I'm viewing. The problem I have with it is that as it cycles through the ad, it yanks me to the bottom of the page and will keep me down there until it has decided to let me get back up to my reading...

Divers O-ring kit from Innovative Scuba

The material in your kit (nitrile) should be just fine for most applications, the potenial issue is the duro rating of the rubber. 70 duro is certainly capable of holding HP gas where tolerances are tight and the seal is static (think port plugs), but will not hold as reliably in applications...

Marking a Compass Heading - Suggestion

For the record, I do like your idea the best. I just wanted to present a next best thing in case they wanted to keep the UI the same.

Marking a Compass Heading - Suggestion

I have a thought on the Mark Compass issue if you decide that guyharrison's idea breaks the intuitive UI too much. Keep the Mark Compass menu option where it is (two left button pushes), but change what the right button does when you select it. A right button push would then take you to the...

    Reg recommendation for doubles

I'm gonna have to argue with you on that one. The hoses route like crap on the Tek3. They put a lot of stress on the hoses, right at the crimp, which leads to premature hose death. IMO the best option is a regulator with a swivel turret and a bottom port on it (HOG D1/D3, Apeks DST(XTX50)...

    Corrupt-a-Wish

Granted, but you forgot about the women. Your wife is still smarter than you, and you will still never win an argument with her. I wish for a DPV that weighs 10 pounds and is the size of a 3 liter bottle of soda, has 90 ft/lbs of thrust, and a run time at full throttle of 6 hours.
