    Mask fogging issues...

It's the pool water. Any time I use a mask in the pool it will fog like crazy until I clean it really good with toothpaste. After I do the toothpaste I can dive it as much as I want in the caves. Once I use it in the pool again though, its right back to fogging up until I toothpaste it again...

My Cave Diving blog... On my way to the Abe Davis Award.

Do they count all cave dives or only the ones after you take the class?

Why is there no easy way to find an instructor?

The best thing for you to do is Become a good videographer. Become a good diver. Then combine the two. Go to the art department at the nearest college. Take some art classes like black and white design and drawing first. Then some videography classes. Don't worry about the underwater part...

    Marking Jumps and T's

In the event of a separation, it would also eliminate having to swim to the END of the jump to see if your buddy is still in the cave or if it's safe to go ahead and pull the jump. If the cookie is still there, don't pull the spool/reel. You could probably even expand this and do it on the primary.

    Ginnie Springs

Even spring runs or creeks, anything you can get a water craft into, even a kayak, is a navigable waterway under the Equal footing doctrine. River Law Poster-Handouts - National Organization for Rivers It's my understanding the company that was contracted to run Poe Springs Park was challenged...

    Want to try the Gulf

I've dove the Sheridan with Tanks-A-Lot, they are excellent. That site is a little far out there (20 miles offshore) so it costs a hair more than a regular dive (around $100) but the vis is better that far out. It was one of my favorite dives. I'd definitely recommend going with them.

Mysteries of the Deep Monty Halls - From cursed waters to hidden cities

Thanks for posting that video, I really enjoyed it. You don't see too many people diving inverted doubles nowadays. The guy diving sidemount though realllly needs to get someone to teach him how to trim his tanks out. Hopefully he'll figure out his tanks aren't supposed to be vertical at some...

    "Real" Thirds.

depends on the flow. Use 1200 to enter at Ginnie or Madison blue, you'll probably have 1900 left at the end of the dive because your ride out will only take 500 psi.

How will my weight loss affect weights needed?

I'll say it again, maybe you will hear it this time. At the end of the dive, with all the air out of your wetsuit at 15-20 feet let all the air out of your bc and with a nearly empty tank, if properly weighted you should be NEUTRAL and that means you have a balanced rig..... If you sink, and...

How will my weight loss affect weights needed?

the way to do a proper weight check is to wait till the END of your dive, when all the air is out of your wetsuit, and on your safety stop at 15 feet let ALL the air out of your bc with a nearly empty tank of air (don't go under 500 psi). You should be neutral under those conditions. If you are...

    F1 and F2 buoyancy?

Hi, I have a question, the current HOG fins I dive with are way too heavy for sidemount. I end up having to put weight on my shoulders to trim out. That causes problems when I'm trying to sit at the surface. I have a question about the F1 and F2, are they neutral, positive or negatively...

Just curious, which hose do you necklace and which do you clip?

The more I think about this, the more it makes sense for the short hose to be necklaced, because in most cases you're going to be handing off the long hose, and the short one being in a necklace would make it easy for you to find, and fast to stick in your mouth.

Just curious, which hose do you necklace and which do you clip?

Just wondering, for those who dive with one long hose and one short hose, which do you run to the necklace and which do you clip off? I noticed on a video that Brian Kakuk hog loops the long hose and runs it to a necklace and just clips off the short hose when not in use. I previously have...

    Wreck Penetrations?

I would also like to hear some opinions on whether some of you feel that a cavern or intro cave certification gives the necessary skills to penetrate a wreck or not. (I suspect that a cave certification would give you the ability to penetrate a wreck, but a wreck certification may not...

    Something for high flow days?

There's a class on diving high flow? Do you have a cert card for diving high flow? When did you get your high flow certification? from who? Can you provide a link to a cavern or intro class syllabus that shows diving in high flow skillfully as a topic or requirement? I was unaware that...

    Something for high flow days?

I read in a really old thread about madison that staying near the ceiling helps. Catfish hotel is also a booger to swim against too ... For some reason though, the flow is stronger at little river but I seem to be able to wiggle around in it better than those two. Exiting at little river is a...
