    Xdeep Stealth 1.0?

Perhaps the stealth 1.0 is a smaller wing for warm water/single cylinder shenanigans? Or it's a 3.0, who knows...

    Opinions on Whites Fusion Tech?

Yeah, I used the little tubes, it wasn't too much of a faff. It was quite an odd sensation feeling a squeeze on your hands, adding a little squirt of air to the suit and having the squeeze go... I have seen a lot of people say that they put the cuff of their undersuit between their wrist and...

    Opinions on Whites Fusion Tech?

I just got them for my suit. I have the Fusion with both a bullet and a sport skin. Sport for travelling and Bullet for UK dives. Because I have the SLT wrist and neck seal option my suit was already set up for the Antares glove system but I still did a lot of research. I spoke to the UK dealer...

    Alternate Day Fasting.

No weigh in on here at the end of June since I was on holiday in June.I'm afraid that 2 weeks all-inclusive in a 5* hotel in Playa Del Carmen eating doughnuts wor breakfast didn't do me any favours. At the end of June I was at 102 kg = 224 lb = 16 st.I got straight back on it when I got back and...

    Alternate Day Fasting.

Monthly weigh-in. I've had a very busy month, every weekend I have had two days of diving so I have had 5 extra days of eating this month. I weighed in on the morning of the 1st and I am 100Kg = 220lbs = 15st 10lbs. That is a total of 21 kilos now (46lbs = 3st 4lbs), I am feeling pretty good...

    Diving the LYNX

My wife and my buddy aren't going to be happy about that... I predict she will be unhappy about me spending more money and he will unhappy that I make him buy one too. Thank you for the quick answer, I hadn't seen that post. I had a quick search and if anyone else is interested it is here...

    Diving the LYNX

No, I wouldn't in the water. In fact it is attached with a breakaway tab to the LP hose to my reg so in the water is actually starts to come over my shoulder closer to the computer. I just put it there on boats to keep it out of harm's way.

    Diving the LYNX

I'm watching this with interest since I have been considering a Lynx for a while. I have been using a UEMIS Zurich for a couple of years and I am sad that they went bust, I have been hoping that another manufacturer would replicate the key features that attracted me to it. None of the other...

    Weighting for self-rescue.

Yesterday my new drysuit arrived. White's Fusion Sport with the silicone seal system, I love the suit, the comfort and flexibility is awesome. So, I put on my thick undersuit and the new drysuit and got myself nicely neutral in the pool with 50 Bar in a 12l steel. I then got out, ripped off...

    Underwater Gear Replacement

I just asked a similar question to this over on the Solo forum because although I have been diving since the 90s I have only just begun diving with a dry suit. I had just stuck all my weight on the backplate/integrated and got on with it, I found that tying to do a kit removal and replacement...

    Weighting for self-rescue.

Wow. A lot of great information coming in. I am going to try to address it all now. Somebody asked about my current setup. I had an old Buddy BCD which I got in 2000 (ish) - I actually learned with a horseshoe - but when I decided to do more UK diving I got a load of second hand stuff for...

    Weighting for self-rescue.

Hmmm. What I was thinking is that if I were to get further training I could take the back mounted indie twins and a single sidemount of bottom gas. I have thought about side mount and although it appeals it looks "messy" and going to more than 2 cylinders looks even more so (messy is my best...

    Weighting for self-rescue.

Hello all. I have been diving on and off (as finance allowed) for 15 years or so, starting with BSAC and going the PADI route on holiday in 2001. Since then I have done a lot of dives on holiday (warm water, good vis, no exposure protection). I approached diving as I do everything -...

Subsurface 3.0 has been released - vastly improved Uemis support in free divelog

Just installed it. Installing the older version was for me (a Linux neophyte) moderately complex. This version is on the Ubuntu Software Centre if you are on 13.04 (which I now am), it just keeps getting easier and easier. The software is brilliant too, heartily recommended. Now, I love my...

    Alternate Day Fasting.

Just an update. The first bit I lost was the "easy" bit it seems. Once I got that out of the way I have settled down to a nice steady rhythm. I weighed in at the end of the month and I am now 104 Kgs = 229 lbs = 16st 5lbs. If anything the diet has gotten easier, now that I am accustomed to...

    Attaching knife to BC

I'd rather nick a hose (particularly a HP hose) than stab myself in the leg... You can buy Kydex sheet very cheaply (ebay etc.) with which you can make all kinds of custom heat-formed shapes. You could make a plate to back the knife sheath onto that guides the point and prevents hitting the hose.

    Alternate Day Fasting.

I understand that. The consensus is that ADF dieting does not trigger the fat storage starvation response because the hunger duration isn't long enough. In fact the ADF diet more closely matches the way humans ate during the greater part of the evolutionary process, many people believe it has...

    Alternate Day Fasting.

I'm a UK resident and I thought I'd post the diet I have been on for the last couple of months since it is really working for me. It's pretty simple. It is called Alternate Day Fasting. The idea is that you eat normally on one day (no more than your weight maintenance calories though) and on...

Subsurface 2.1 has been released - divelog with native support for the Uemis Zurich

Thank you but I am a bit of a beginner with code. I was lucky enough to be able to fine a .deb file in AMD64 and just used the Ubuntu Software Centre to install it. I'll have to do a bit more reading before I am comfortable building from source.
