Sebastian Inlet Fishes - ID help please

Hi, All of these fishes were spotted midday last week, diving in 6 -10 ft of water, in Sebastian Inlet (East Central Florida) along the rock jetty. Hoping to add a few of these to my fish count but at this point not 100% sure of ID. a) Sanddiver or Inshore lizardfish? About 12 inches. Diamond...

Juvenile Fish in Sebastian Inlet Florida

Yes, thank you so much for your help Doc Vikingo! Wonder if I was misidentifying the adults as sergeant majors or if they were hiding in the rocks. I'll just have to keep looking...

Does anyone know if it needs to be exactly the full moon or if +\- a day or two would be a spawning window of opportunity?

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

Thanks Jet! It's an impressive list to be sure, I am very motivated to look for all 6 species of searobin. Fantastic night dive Sunday with demo lights and SB divers! I never would have guessed bristle worms are luminescent under any light or how many of them are weaving in and out of the sand...

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

Love the puffer pair and your wee little friend by the cushion star (juvenile searobin?); super cute! Do you happen to have/are you willing to make a species list for those off us not yet on a first name basis with all the locals?

Hello, I'm posting a buddy's pics from night dive (with permission per djcheburashka) in the hopes that someone would help me ID theses shrimp, they were burrowing into the sand by the dozens. Also, this is the octopus I was calling common, he was calling Carribean. Thanks for your help!

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

Did the night dive last night and the morning dive today (still haven't managed to do both in one day though). Night dive was warm (81) and we had better than predicted vis (at least 15 ft). enjoyed watching a reef mantis shrimp, jawfish, common octopus (so say I as it came out of a bottle but...

Visibility was still terrible yesterday, however, on the trail and main bridge. Thermocline/Helocline seemed to reach nearly the bottom of the trail with some patches of 10ft vis under the main bridge/fishing peer. On the bright side, we collected a whole lot of garbage for World Ocean Day, yay...

Shore dive around Pompano 6th Street?

At the risk of being redundant, I have dove Pompano a handful of times, different street every time. 9th street entry was a little more interesting than closer to the pier but enjoyed myself on all occasions. Here's some pics from last sunday; just north of the pier. Only went to the first reef.

dancing flounder Visibility was pretty bad yesterday (less than 10ft) but still great to get a dive in before the storm. Saw this interesting flounder "dance" and some sort of little sea robin: PICT0390 - YouTube

Scuba Jenny is correct :) the brittle star was several feet across it seemed like each arm was a least 1.5 feet. I see single arms poking out a few inches all the time but this is the first time I saw the whole critter. The longarm octopus, the mantle/body about 4-6 inches and the arms seemed...

High capacity closures? Arrived at the bridge yesterday around 4:30pm and there was a police car barring the way. The officer said he wasn’t letting anyone in for a couple hours because there was insufficient parking. My dive buddy pleaded that we just be let in to drop our gear and then I’d...

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

So said my computer at 545pm. perhaps I need to calibrate and/or compare to someone else. it did seem warmer than it has been lately as well (no I didn't drink too many energy drinks, creating my own personal thermocline). i have no idea, what is a typical temperature flux at the bridge after a...

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

Didn't realize my dream yet of diving both tides but the dive tonight was a lovely 77 degrees with at least 20ft visibility. Saw a large, good foot in length, Atlantic black sea hare out-n-about swimming and still a plethora of octopus.

Thanks Trolls! Anyone want to join me? Only managed to recruit a buddy for the pm dive. Not sure if it was the leaving Melbourne at 4am, or the sleeping under the bridge until the second slack tide part of my plan that was the deal breaker for my local buddies...

Does anyone happen to know how closely dusk-to-dawn parking hours are enforced at Phil Foster? Specifically, if I dive at 6 am Sunday (pre-dawn) would I be likely to get a ticket?

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

Dive tonight (3.23/ sat.) had limited visibility (10-20ft), winds/strong current, but water was warm (77) and the bottom dwellers were out ‘n about. Bob I saw your little friend again; seemed to have matured a bit but no offspring yet. Favorites today were the eyed flounder, long-spined sea...
