    BCD Question

Getting water in your BC is normal. When you get home use your dump valve to get the water out. As for the air in your BC I've never seemed to be able to get the air completely out when I decend. And even after my dive I have to lay on it to get the air and water all out. I'm guessing that...

    Body in Lake Superior Wreck?

It is true that bodies do not decompose in water that cold, but they do take on a white waxy like appearance. I've seen photographs and videos from it. As for diving to see a dead guy- that's a little creepy to me.

    Getting out of the Boat

Ok, after attempting my first dive from a boat and ending up aborting the dive for other reasons, I was looking for some advice on the best way to get out of the boat. When I did my dive I rolled out backwards and as I came up I felt a little disoriented and I was worried about the position of...

    need advice on seasick meds

With any medication you should really consult your doctor as well. Even if it is an over the counter medicine. Or at least talk to a pharmacist. You can also check out www.scuba-doc.com for a lot of good articles about health and wellness and diving.

Basic SCUBA Discusion thread - Lake Michigan diver survives 2,500ft trip through pipe

I read that yesterday....scary...And the news articles make it sound like it was her fault! I just love it when non divers judge what we do because they know so much about diving. That just cheezes me off.....sorry little rant there. She's a very lucky lady, thanksfully.

Free fills at the Fire Dept????

Fire Departments have to abide by OSHA regulations on their compressors to fill the SCBA tanks that fire fighters use to breath air from. The air is the same as what you get from your LDS. Many dive rescue teams use the local fire departments to fill their tanks. My department charges $1.00...

Don't forget your first aid kit.

I have the same as DaFireMedic, but I also carry a couple of splints, some goggles, lots of gloves, flashlight and some oral airways. Mine is also more than the normal person would carry, but I take it with me when I camp or got boating as well as when I dive. The American Heart Association...

Sunday Diving Disaster in the Manitou Passage

Well no one missed anything yesterday on our Manitou Passage dive. The day turned into a small disaster. Only one other person showed up, although two members of our six person group had good excuses. When we were loading my gear into the boat my buddy told me that he forgotten his tanks. I...

    what's under there?

I can't speak for you men, but I wear a two piece swim suit and then I put my skin on over that. It does help getting the wetsuit on, and it also helps prevent chafing. I have pretty sensitive skin so anything to prevent unsightly rashes and irritation is always welcome in my book. I live...

    Diving with a cracked rib

As with any medical problem you should consult your doctor before diving...It worried me that so many people have dove with cracked ribs-not a highly worrisome injury, but has the potential to become worse. I'm glad that everyone is fine...but, I think about the possiblity that you could fall...
