Some bodies they never find - diving with an emergency PLB

Nice write up, Don, and thanks for the info! I am trying to buy a canister from HDVSEATEK, but didn't find a way to do it directly from their website. I sent them an email, but didn't hear anything back. Any ideas?

    Tank valve cleaning

I don't need to O2 clean it, as our LDS offers banked nitrox. The valves will not see anything higher than 32%. ---------- Post added April 28th, 2015 at 11:34 AM ---------- What do you do differently between cleaning the valves and rebuilding them, other than the burst disk part?

5th port for the new XTX200 first stage

Just to report back. Purchased the upgrade kits from LDS for $44 + tax each, and took 3min to install. Made hose routing a lot easier.

    Tank valve cleaning

How about the plug & seat assembly, do you toss that as well? The valve service manual only says replace it every five years. I will look into the PSI Valve Repair Technician class. Thanks.

    Tank valve cleaning

After about a hundred dives or so, my tank valves were getting harder to turn, which made valve drill difficult. When I took one apart, I found quite a bit of gunk built up between the bonnet nut and the stem. My question, how and how often do you clean your valves, and do you replace all...

5th port for the new XTX200 first stage

Hi, It seems that there is a 5-port upgrade kit available for the new (post 2013) XTX100/200 first stage (part# AP02741.) Has anyone used/installed it? What's your installation experience? Was it fairly straightforward? It also seems that this upgrade kit is not widely available, as the...

    Light Monkey 21W LED question

I've read somewhere that the OSTAR LED's used in these lights has been obsolete for several years now, and they weren't that great. Can any one confirm this? If so, what was the major shortcomings of these LED's? Thanks.

    Archon Lights

I bought an Archon D32VR from lightmalls.com a few months ago. The light works OK as a video light, but the built quality is questionable. The black coating on the body is missing a portion of the threading part, which over time made it more difficult to turn the light on/off because of...

small cuts on a Bare trilam drysuit

I noticed some small cuts on the back of my Bare trilam HD tech drysuit a few weeks ago. There is no leakage, but I am worried about the cuts getting larger over time and eventually causing leak. Any suggestions on what I should do? Should I have the area patched up? how much would it cost...

issues with HOG classic second stage, a small leak

Hi Chris, Thanks for your reply. What I meant by tuning was to adjust the orifice, in an effort to solve a free flow problem I had lately. Although I haven't serviced any regulators in the past, I have a background in engineering, and I have read Regulator Savvy. So, I believe I understand...
