Just to report back. Purchased the upgrade kits from LDS for $44 + tax each, and took 3min to install. Made hose routing a lot easier.

How about the plug & seat assembly, do you toss that as well? The valve service manual only says replace it every five years. I will look into the PSI Valve Repair Technician class. Thanks.
