I'm a little surprised that you didn't receive an answer to your question. I was on a similar quest when I ran across your post. I'm taking a week off in the next few weeks and was thinking I'd just bum around and dive where I could. Years ago we'd just head up with diving gear and sleeping bags...

Went to Salt Water State Park for the noon slack. Viz was no more than ten feet with a lot of particulate but made my way around the reefs. In doing so I was forced into the world of macro-life. Good dive.

That just blows! Hopefully the stuff will turn up at a pawn shop and get spotted on the police hot sheet. That was an expensive loss.

Viz at Saltwater yesterday morning was pretty decent. 16 to 20 feet down near the reefs. (I couldn't resist reviving this vintage thread started in 2005 by a handsome local diver)

Both posts were great, thanks. I always enjoyed Mukilteo and not just for the crab hunting! The viz in the Canal sounds great but I know it doesn't last. I'll pipe up again later this week to see about hooking up next week with times, etc. Dave

Well, it's been three years on a project in Northern California and now I find myself back in the Pacific Northwest. Though I'll miss the diving in Monterey and, to a lesser degree, Lake Tahoe I'm happy to be back. Tides look a little weird but I'm anxious to dive. If I can hook up with anyone...
