Need help planning a trip to the Bahamas

I actually enjoyed it I was one of the last later stops but you do get to see a lot of the outskirts of the island on the trip over. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Need help planning a trip to the Bahamas

i just went to Nassau, Bahamas a few weeks ago and stayed on Paradise Island. My parents and I (i'm only 21) stayed in the comfort suites right outside of Atlantis. We had full access to Atlantis without the Atlantis price. I dove with Stuart Cove's dive shop and did the shark adventure. I...

Key Largo Rainbow Reef Dives VS. Pirate Island Divers

If you stay right on the water (I did while in key largo) it's like a 1 minute walk. I can't remember exactly which hotel I stayed at but it had a tiki bar and you had to walk across a wooden bridge to get to rainbow reefs dive boat. I loved diving with rainbow reef and would highly recommend...

In the market for a new watch

I currently have a casio g shock and it recently broke, so I'm in the market for a new one. I was looking for a casio frogman, one of the new ones, or looking for one with a built in computer. I've been checking out the Aeris Manta and TUSA Zen. Any reviews on those watches? or should I stick...

    Question about Nitrox certifications

Well I just joined a volunteer fire station and a ton of the other volunteers are all divers, so I might be able to dive around here with them. I'm not crazy about cold water I was only used to it when I was a competitive swimmer. Trust me warm water will spoil you.

    Question about Nitrox certifications

It's actually cheaper to do the dives than not take the dives

    Question about Nitrox certifications

I was just looking up about that I would consider it but not much to really see unless you go to the great lakes which I guess there is some wrecks but they are far down I believe.

    Question about Nitrox certifications

Well the thing is I live up north where it's cold and I've been down south where it's warm and I'm pretty spoiled now. I mean I could just grow a pair and bite the bullet. And to answer the second one I have no idea when I will be diving nitrox and I just took my advanced and pretty confident...

    Question about Nitrox certifications

I'm currently signed up to take a Nitrox certification through NAUI at my LDS. I know that through NAUI you must do 2 dives after the class to get the certification and if you don't you get a "recognition" card. Would it be worth it to get the recognition card? Would I be able to dive Nitrox...

    AOW courses to take?

Well I'm now AOW certified! I ended up with PPB, navigation, deep dive, search and recovery, and wreck. I signed up for night dive, but due to conditions I wasn't able to do the night dive and the next night dive is after I leave Key Largo, so wreck diving is what replaced it.

Worst trend in Scuba Diving instruction many of us have ever seen...Avoid Groupon!

Here in NY I paid for full price at my LDS and my cousin took the groupon and it was the same class. He was my dive buddy for the entire course so he learned everything I learned. It seems to be certain places have this problem

when do I put anti fog solution in my mask?

I just used toothpaste on my mask a few times today to make sure it's ready and I just purchased some sea gold and I'm wondering when I apply the anti fog solution, the night before my dive (right now) or right before my dive when I'm on the boat?

    AOW courses to take?

I just signed up and I'm taking deep, nav, night, ppb, and search and recovery the only other thing I would take is wreck diving, but I was thinking, do I need to be certified or take a class on wrecks to be able to see them and explore them?

    AOW courses to take?

I can always ask the dive shop what they recommend as well. After my advanced cert. I was thinking of taking a dive down to some of the wrecks before I left. I only have 4 days to dive.

    AOW courses to take?

yeah those are the ones I was thinking of taking but I'd add search and recovery to that list because I have one more dive to add

    AOW courses to take?

Well so looks like PPB for sure, my buoyancy is ok it could use some tweaking, so that sounds ideal. Navigation is already included which I've actually kinda did when I took my OW test, they just introduced us and told us to find a point and go to it, my nav skills are pretty good on land...
