I am thinking about starting lessons at Lynnhaven dive center and I have my own boat (18' trophy) but from what I have been reading the diving in va Beach is not good. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

I am about to start lessons and I must provide a weight belt. I am 6 ft and weight 240. How much weight do I need? Thanks for the help.
