So far I have been able to record what I want from 2 dives on one battery, as I never record the whole dive, only the most interesting sights (makes editing easier too imho). But I also bring extra batteries (of the new Enduro type) on the boat in case I use too much of it on first dive, so I...
I'm using a fairly powerful gaming desktop PC for editing/processing, not doing anything on the go. Previously used Vegas Pro and PowerDirector 365 software, was planning on learning DaVinci Resolve now, many seem to like it and seems powerful from what I have seen.
Hi, to be clear: I preferred using red filter on previous GoPros that did not have the white balance adjustment option that Hero11 now has (I don't know if H10 had this). On the Hero11 I now prefer without red filter for my use (so far).
1. I assume you mean without a red filter (if you mean with then I haven't tried that on H11 at all and no longer have my old), and disclaimer; I've just started experimenting with this camera and settings so highly likely others better qualified to answer. Also of course, it highly depends on...
On Hero11 you have a white balance setting with 9 steps from 2300K to 6500K plus "native". I have just tried some videos in The Red Sea using this, without the red filter I usually use. Not perfect "out of the box" (also I'm still experimenting with settings and exposure) but gets you closer...
With older models of GoPro and UW case you had to remove the lens cover to fit the GoPro into the case. With Hero11 this is no longer needed for fit, but should you do it anyway? Any UW quality impact either way?
Just realized that runsongas indeed had the right one above here, it started playing into the clip so I missed the opening I was looking for. Also, seem to remember there was more footage of the divers before it appeared. But here is a longer clip that also capture more of the great diver...
Thanks, these are both great, bet it would be absolutely amazing being there!
But the one I was looking for has a whale coming like a torpedo surprise out of the dark water, right at the one diver, passing really really close, and disappearing. A quite short clip, not as serene, but. amazing...
I remember a video of two scuba divers in low visibility water, at the sea-floor, then suddenly a whale appears out of the dark, swimming close by one diver, looking at him, then disappearing in the dark again. And you can hear and see the two divers being very excited. As I would be.
Have...
Thanks, good feedback. I liked the turtle reveal too :) I know lights were an issue in some shots (when I bought 2x2600 lumens 3 years ago I thought they were like mini-suns :) and I was too lazy to do proper per-clip color calibration.
Researching lights is difficult because you get so many different opinions and recommendations. I can only add that I researched a similar setup myself (GoPro on tray with dual lights/arms) I ended up with two Bigblue Black Molly 3 lights. Bought them for the combination of being very compact...
Hi, thanks to some quality "stay home" time with recent events, I finally got time to edit some scuba video from diving Phuket dive sites. All feedback would be very welcome. Stay safe!
