Is it as good a deal as it sounds?

If it is all in good condition, it is in service and the first stage has not been flooded by leaving the dust cap off during washing etc (hang on, silly me, the Titan LX has ACD). Then go for it. Lucky you. Great buy. :eyebrow:

Sydney 2 piece to one piece wetsuit equivelent

Thanks; Shame about Neptune, because they where the best in Aussie wetsuits. Looks like SeaTec it is. I like to get local stuff, let's hope they don't disappear as well. Quickly running out of good manufacturers. Marty :)

Sydney 2 piece to one piece wetsuit equivelent

That is a shame. I always used to use Neptune, the Trident suit with the good old Protech knee pads etc. They where great. I think I wore at least three of them out until they just disintegrated. due to lack of care and a lot of use. But I see that Neptune is only a shadow of itself now. Shame...

Sydney 2 piece to one piece wetsuit equivelent

Thank you, that really helps. Funny how you are mentioning the Scubapro suit I am looking at the Scubapro OneFlex 7mm SCUBAPRO - ONEFLEX but I would have gotten the 5mm version if it would have been to warm. But I guess my instinct was right. Really appreciate the confirmation. How do you find...

Sydney 2 piece to one piece wetsuit equivelent

Hi; I spend many years diving in Sydney in a 2 piece 5mm wetsuit. I found them great and versatile. But I have noticed a change in dive industry and that has been a move to one piece wetsuits. So my question is this, I am moving back to Sydney after a few years away and I want to buy a new...

    Good, durable and strong fins

Thank you; I have put an order in for a shiny new Black pair today. I hope these new ABS buckles are any good. Marty :)

    Good, durable and strong fins

Thanks, looks like a good buy and I might get those. They are the older ones (series 1 if I can call it that) So do you think the SLs are good fins and close to my old (but now deceased due to long use) Power Plana Graphite fins??? Marty :)

    Good, durable and strong fins

Thank you, I will consider those. But lucky I was just abouut to order a pair of Vipers (found them cheap for $42). I guess I would have really been unhappy. Marty :)

    Good, durable and strong fins

Thank you all for your very helpful answers. It is great to get such a broad diversity of advice. Just one more question, I might have found a good fin and that is the Mares Plana SL. It looks very similar to the original Power Plana and the pictures make it seem pretty light. Plus they are new...

    Good, durable and strong fins

Hi I have been diving since 1985 now at Padi instructor level, but not taught for a couple of years also had a commercial diving ticket and did a lot of construction and inspection work, including try mix gases. So I have done a wide variety of diving. I hate soft fins, nor fins that are to...

    Good, durable and strong fins

I do like the sound of Quattros and they have been around for ages. I just don't like heavy fins. I used to use them in my commercial diving days to do hull inspections etc. and I always found they put my buoyancy off. But I guess that is a personal choice. I am just getting back into diving and...

    Good, durable and strong fins

Hi; Good idea. I have had them years ago and did find them a little heavy. What I would not mind are plastic fins that are durable and stiff. Marty :)

    Good, durable and strong fins

Hi; I am shopping for a new pair of fins. I have always been a fan of good stiff fins like the Dacor Turbo flex graphite (really ancient),Power Plan Graphite (I know ancient) and the US Divers Blades (also ancient). But what fins on the market at the moment also give a strong and stiff kick like...

    SeaQuest Explorer Age.

I remember distinctively that it was a explorer and it looks so similar to this one except for the differences I mentioned earlier. But this one has me beat. But I must say the explorer was one of the best travel BCs out there. No schnick snack and light weight. Also no weight integration...

    SeaQuest Explorer Age.

Hi; I just got this Seaquest explorer BCD. I think it is one. The reason for my doubt is that I had one in the early nineties but it was different. It did not have any straps on the shoulders to adjust and just had the padded band. Also there was no added little strap across the front along with...

    Sherwood Brut age

Good point, well lets see if this one lasts. But I have never had an issue with Oceanic and I cannot imagine them letting a quality fault as has been reported to just slip by. I think it is more like what you say. Regardless it breathes fine and will serve the purpose of a Octopus just fine...

    Sherwood Brut age

That is great to hear. Thank you. I guess I should not ask regarding the Oceanic Octopus (in my picture). But a strange thing though, people say the cover disintegrates (Oceanic Slimline) but I find it flexible and solid. I wonder if Oceanic has changed it or if they fixed the issue. Marty...
