    Vyper air fail

That was a typo on my part about the LP connection. I do understand in hooks on HP port. With that said, we tried everything listed above and the results were the same. As far as "why did I think it would pick up in the water" it has before.

    Vyper air fail

I seriously think it's a defective computer.. 2 dive masters and 2 instructors on the boat all looked at it and agreed something wasn't quit right.. I went ahead and bought the Atomic Cobalt this morning and got three dives in with it today. I really like it! I hope my dive shop will take the...

    Vyper air fail

This is the second time my viper air has shown "fail" instead of reading my pressure. Had I not had a backup SPG yesterday I would have had to call my dive. I thought once I hit the water it may start working...it never did. I'm going to give it one more shot this morning. It worked fine on...

    Another Florida Mini-Season Accident

It's a tragedy that someone so young lost his life. i never realized diving was so hard on the heart. It seems to me, the majority of the articles I read involving a diving fatality tend to lean toward a heart condition. Is it just me or is there something to this?

    Panama City Dive Charters

If you get a chance try out Divers Den, they are a smaller shop and have always been extremely professional IMO and also run a smaller boat. They like the Red Sea and bridge spans as well, and their cheaper! Over all, great outfit.

    C card verification needed

That's a bummer, the last two diving outfits i went out with didn't even ask to see my c-card. I guess with two kids and all of our new equipment they pretty much assumed we had them.

Want to buy my own tank, but I know very little...need advice!

Here is the the link i got that info from. I suppose there are variables. I should have worded my post to not appear that I had taken a hard stance on that information, for I am learning too...

Want to buy my own tank, but I know very little...need advice!

I too have been searching for new tanks. After researching and taking into consideration the advice I have received from SB, I have decided to rent a few different sizes of tanks and make sure i'm comfortable with what I buy and not wind up with something that is not practical for me. With...

    Tipping Etiquette

I have had nothing but great experiences with the few dive boats I'v been on so i'v always tipped $20 a bottle if it's just me and when I have my two kids I do $100 for the three of us. The DM's have alway helped me with my kids, every now and the I'll look up and see the DM hovering above...

High pressure vs low pressure tanks

Good point chrpai, I should've been more clear. I understand that you can have 4000 psi in a small tank as well as a large tank, I just want more air. As others have stated in this thread, my skills are where my attention may need to be in order to achieve more bottom time. I consider myself...

High pressure vs low pressure tanks

I have mostly been diving in Ft. Lauderdale and Panama City Beach. Jim, I can't say anything about my instructor (he may be on this forum) but your right about one thing, i may have been rushed through my training a bit too fast. As far as weight issues go, I am doing better on that. In...

High pressure vs low pressure tanks

I'm considering buying my own tanks and would like to know what tank would let me get the safest, fullest fill. Being new to the sport I still have some minor issues with running out of air faster than others. On average, about 25 minutes @ 80 feet is max for me. According to my Vyper Air...

Getting Old Is not So Bad!

My names is Rusty, I have had my C-card since February of this year. During Thanksgiving last year, my wife and two daughters went to Dominic Republic on a winter vacation, while there, my two daughters Courtney (16) and Mckenzie (14) did a DSC. When they goy back home all they could talk...

    Last Weekend's "little" accident

This is my first post and the first thread I have read. I only have 25 dives under my belt and just picked up the book for nitrox certification yesterday. I don't think I could have picked a better thread to start off with. Thank you DD for having the courage and the insight to understand that...
