My bit
I stage sling mine (ever since I lost a back mounted one when the mounting dislodged wriggling through an opening, then had a freeflow on primary) and bungee the 2nd stage to the neck of the tank.
I also have a 'spare' inflator hose on the pony 1st stage that fits my suit and wing...
Hey, welcome to the board and to diving!
Have you got any reaction from the rest of the suit? Or is it just your feet?
Are they your boots or borrowed / rental? Try bunging them through a wash, there may be some gunk in the neoprene...
Hope it works out for you
Simon
I gotta say this sounds a bit stoopid.
Aren't divers tourists?
Don't divers bring money into the local area?
Don't divers enjoy the facility?
Do divers damage the area more than a bunch of stop-in tourists with McDonalds bags?
Are non-diver 'residents' barred from the site too?
...
Hey again Annette,
Did you have a look at yorkshire-divers?
Log yourself on and you'll get some response, if not let me know and I'll sort them out!
Si
hey Annette
have a look here aswell;
www.yorkshire-divers.co.uk
a freindly bunch like you'll find here, and some dives / trips in the UK (not just Yorkshire!)..
I did my OW in Sharm, what centre were you there with?
Welcome to diving!!
Simon
in my travelling box of goodies....
lots of duct tape
o-rings
spare mask, mask strap and fin straps
couple of metres of shock cord (good for quick fix straps or lanyards etc)
cable ties / zip ties - whatever you wanna call them -big and small (excellent for fixing busted pinch-clip buckles...
That assumes you're breathing the tank down to zero psi doesnt it? Thats a bad thing to routinely practice, it will encourage moisture in the tank and therefore corrosion. ?
If I remember correctly, the reasons for 'on-the-boat' pressure rules are that;
a To allow for slower ascents than planned (problems like boats overhead, entanglement on ascent...)
b To stop us nearly emptying the tanks (which allows condensation to form)
c Because some regulators stop...
Thats the biggest load of bull i have ever heard, if it wasnt real, I would be laughing my *** off.
Like it says, if it doesnt 'register' shallow, its gonna be inaccurate and dangerous.
Well done for raising the subject.
I'd echo that.
Diving with a guide takes a load off your task list, so you're free to look about you a little more and enjoy the sights... and you won't stray into dodgy currents, drop offs etc.
You're also almost guaranteed to finish somewhere near where you want to be!!
in my save-a-dive kit are..
spare fin straps and buckles
spare mask strap
duct tape (never leave home without it!)
zip ties of various lengths (can be used to "permanently" fix broken pinch clip buckles)
Neoprene glue (but you can use duct tape for temp fix)
screw driver
allen spanners...
First things first, if you dive twins my ramblings dont apply...
If you mean an alternate air source, like a Pony, then I always dived with one in the UK. Havent quite got round to getting one here but it's next on the list as I feel rather uncomfortable without it.
This isnt a comment on...
Try this?
Breath normally and add air to your BCD until you start to rise on the inhale, then exhale, you should start to fall again, continue to inhale and exhale, but take normal breaths, dont breath too deeply or you will rise artificially too "early". If you thump back to earth on the...
You dont want to worry about that. We're a stubborn bunch and we dont react well to bullying fanatics. We also bounce back pretty quick.
I've been in touch with all my mates in London so know they're all ok, but my thoughts are definately with the friends and families of the dead and...
