Dove there from a boat the last 2 days. Found some megs but they are small. From what I took in the area looks to have great potential just need to take your time. If I was to guess, we were no more than 3/4 of a mile from shore. We worked east and south from the splash points. Both dives were...
The only tools you need really are your hands and a mesh bag for your finds. I have a 12 metal probe I will use to poke around in the muddy areas but that has yet to produce anything.
Did 2 dives friday off s, broward and 4 dives saturday off a boat. It was pretty much a mud puddle friday with 0 to 2' vis at best. Saturday morning dives from the boat were maybe 4 to 5' of vis here and there. Afternoon dives were back to 0 to 2'. Was great to come down and dive. Conditions...
I generally dive every other weekend. I skipped this weekend due to vis. Hopefully the weather will settle a bit in next two weeks. If not then I will make a trip to the keys.

One thing to remember when looking for big teeth. They are not always lying fully exposed. You need to look for the root or part of the root sticking up only most of the time. I have only found one tooth just lying on the surface waiting fully exposed. the other three were actually wedged pretty...

1st dive was with Sh@rkW@tcher at the culverts and stats are listed above.
The culverts were awesome to say the least. I did manage to get myself a nice mangrove for dinner. He cleaned house with a very nice assortment of table fare. There was a lot of life and action out there. Was A great...
Lol. I wish. I find little ones by the thousands up by the beach. The big ones, well either I dont have the eye for them or am just not looking in the right place.

Moderator removed my initial post. Lol
Was just offering an option illegal or not. ;)
I get buzzed over the reefs in Venice. Sad when you get used to it.

Guess my last post was too harsh. Lol
Flags and laws should be posted all over boat launches and docks. Boat operators should suffer same consequences as drunk drivers and the boats should be confiscated. I personally have no respect for most boaters as they think they own the water. If it is...
I'm sure there are many awesome fossils down there. Many may never be seen. Mother nature kindly throws us a few every now and then. I would surely hope nobody ever gets a whacked idea to start destroying the bottom just for some old bones. That would be a travesty.

Rays will also create holes. When they detect a sub surface meal they cover the area then start to flutter which excavates the target. I have never seen one go below maybe 6 to 8 inches but I can imagine it is possible. They are very efficient at it.
