Like New - Sidemount Harness, Regs and Cannister Light for Caving

Hi there, Ideally I was looking to sell all the items as a package and therefore would be able to offer a better rate on them together. Also keeping it local would prevent international shipping costs. However, if both gytwypt and ChazStick below wish to buy an item each, then I will...

Like New - Sidemount Harness, Regs and Cannister Light for Caving

I am moving away from Mexico and rather than having to carry all the nearly NEW gear that I won't be able to make use of away from the beautiful Mexican cenotes, I though I'd see if anybody wanted to grab a bargain. Everything here has had LESS THAN A DOZEN DIVES on it (in fresh water) and is...

    Question for PADI instructors

The IDC includes both the AI (Assistant Instructor) portion AND OWSI (Open Water Scuba Instructor) portions, so no, you do not have to be an AI to start the IDC, however you you would have to be if you wanted to do an OWSI only program, or only that second portion of the IDC.

If you're in Utila- Excite Me!

This week we saw around 600 dolphins. No, really. I love this place!! Also, a couple of nurse sharks and a sea horse. The highlight was the lobster with 'squeaky feelers' though. He was a little loco; needed oiling! Have you been here before? You're going to love it here. Weather is hot...

Suunto D9: Remaining Air Time and No Deco Time - WHY??

Hey FabioA, I have logged about 300 dives on the D9 and even from dive 1 it was not confusing. Both numbers are useful and very clear to distinguish from each other on the face. The gas switch function is a very nice extra that comes in useful as I also use the D9 as my tech backup...

Have a look at http://www.goproutila.com/ for another alternative. Yes I am biaised. This is who I took my IDC with last year, but if you are thinking outside Thailand too, then definitely work checking out Utila Dive Center's monthly IDCs. IDC: 14-24th July and IE: 26th/27th fits in with...

Best Caribbean destination for diver and non-diver

Hi there sharkbait, If you´re looking for something similar to Roatan, then may I suggest the closest thing to it (literally!). Utila has similar diving, a couple of nice beaches and is less spread out than the town areas on Roatan so it is easier to get around. It is also cheaper. I...

PADI OW referral dives from shore--where to do in Hawaii or Caribbean?

Hi JNelson113, I just did my Open Water on Utila in the Bay Islands in the West Caribbean. I suffer from sea sickness (and car sickness, plane sickness, travel sickness too!!!) too. I went with Utila Dive Centre who came recommend by friends, and their boats are comfortable and fast so the...
