    TRUK LAGOON

Thanks. Have to admit I did not take these - another diver was nice enough to forward them to me. Truk is the greatest place for wreck diving. Plenty of artifacts still present, even after 70 years. Diving on the Odyssey was a real pleasure. We had only five guests on board due to a late...

    TRUK LAGOON

Dove in Truk Feb 2017, 12 dives from land (Blue Lagoon) and 24 from the Odyssey. Had a great time. Here is a link to my photo album...(borrowed from other divers)...enjoy...

Tobin @ DSS is fantastic! Great service, great product!

Thinking of getting the same setup for my daughter (and maybe myself :)). We will be in the San Diego area to take a look at UC and thought we would drop by DSS. Unfortunately, I just learned there is no showroom there, or anyone to walk us through the best setup for our needs. Is there a way we...

Lost Diver in Cozumel, Mexico, February 2016

Started as a new diver in CZ. First OW dives were Columbia Shallows and Palancar Gardens during OW certification. Maybe we were lucky, but found these to be very easy dives. Warm water, almost no current, and great visibility. Can't imagine an easier dive for novices. Are there easier dives in CZ?

First time diving Cozumel- Need Help!

Interesting thread! I normally stay at one of the AI, like Iberostar or Occidental, but am reconsidering after reading this thread! We are planning a trip mid December this year. Anyone have any advice for staying closer to down town? There will be three of us so a two bedroom would be great...

    Allegro Cozumel with my LDS

Yes, there is one wreck that is within rec limits. We dove this in December. A little challenging though due to the depth and sometimes strong current. Talk to your dive master(s) about this as they will be able to evaluate your skills and let you know if you are ready.

    Allegro Cozumel with my LDS

Actually no certification is needed for a night dive. Maybe best to do it later in the week though as it does require a little more confidence in your diving skills, mainly because now you need to handle a flashlight. I would guess that if you are feeling good about your diving skills that a...

    Allegro Cozumel with my LDS

I would take the 24 hour no fly rule seriously. You can move the dives to earlier in the week. If you feel up to it try a night dive! Much easier than you think and pretty interesting. Let us know how it goes.

    Allegro Cozumel with my LDS

You're going to have a great time! Was next door at the Occidental in December with my daughter and the diving was great. Since you are diving 11 times you can get too know the dive masters, which makes everything better. Have a good time.

    Opinions on first regulator set...

Thanks, Bob! Planning on doing a pool check with my new equipment and this is definitely useful for checking my new reg. Taking a look at the new regulator I don't see any signs of use, but it will be great to be able to monitor them thoroughly myself. BTW, does anyone know the expected IP of...

    Opinions on first regulator set...

Nice profile pic, decompression! Yeah, this is definitely a starter set. Not too concerned about the ABS, but will probably upgrade it sometime. TBone, like the DGX site and am planning on ordering a BP/W setup from them sometime. If I am going to use the IP gauge then I assume I'll need an...

    Opinions on first regulator set...

TBone Could you explain what an IP gauge is and how to check if it locks up? I know IP stands for intermediate pressure, which I believe is the pressure in the hose. Thanks for the heads up on having the dive shop check it out for free. I am in the SF bay area and most dive shops are not...

    Opinions on first regulator set...

Just bought this used regulator set for $250. Planning on having it serviced as soon as I get it, so that will add $100 to the price. It was new in May 2015 and used for a couple of months at a scuba camp. Was this a reasonable deal? Since this is intended for warm water recreational diving...

Article: Review: DRIS 28lb BP/W System

Thinking about getting this BP/W for myself and my daughter. We are both warm water recreational divers with 50+ dives with rental jacket style BCs. Thinking of getting our own BCs and regs so thought BP/W would be nice. Also because my daughter wants to become a dive master after she gets her...
