Best Dive Centres In Phuket Thailand

I prefer See Bees divers - better boat, slightly smaller groups and good DMs. Although diving has disintegrated in Phuket over the last 20-30 years. Still a good day out though. Also, Asia Divers, but their groups are much larger. Subject to time of year, too.

My upcoming trip to Subic Bay, Malapascua, and Coron

I've dived at all three places, some thoughts - Malapascua: the obvious highlight is the thresher shark diving, but don't write off the day/reef diving because I think it's pretty good too, so long as you're broad minded. The reefs aren't pretty, but the biodiversity in Malapascua is really...

Has anyone seen or used the new Scubapro Hydros Pro BCD

I've done nearly 70 dives with mine in varying conditions - still think you've got it all wrong. Mine felt awkward initially, but after playing with it for a while, I've got it just how I like it. Sounds like a familiar problem, and is more likely related to too much air in the BCD. Just my...

    Patong Beach September 2018

It's great advice - I've been diving in Thailand for 20 years, including during 'low season', so I've experienced all conditions at all times of the year. It would be disingenuous not to give honest advice, since I don't work in the Thai diving industry.

    Patong Beach September 2018

It will be rainy, windy and choppy - it's still the 'rainy' season. Weather doesn't calm down until about November. West Coast of Thailand's best weather is approx. Nov/Dec until May - the other months are the rainy season, and weather is a lot more unpredictable. Imo, don't waste your time...

Scuba Warehouse or Wakiki - owned by the same guy, both well stocked and pretty helpful staff. Decent prices too.

Puerto Galera and Badladz Dive Resort trip report

You get what you pay with diving in remote locations - especially in Asia. I've been to PG twice and stayed at 'Atantis' both times - their resort is brilliant and you can get reasonable rooms, don't need to get the most expensive. The main attraction (part from prime location) is their local...

    Manado

IMO, you should stay at a dive resort in Manado - far better use of time and resources. All credible resorts will arrange complete transfer service, so you don't have to deal with local tax drivers, etc. Recommend - Thallassa & Cocotinos - both excellent resorts and dive ops.
