Are there any safety concerns with using quick disconnects with that much pressure?
I know popping a QD attachment on my pancake compressor is one thing... but that's at 110 psi. Would 30x that pressure be dangerous or do you just need to shut off the line and bleed/purge it first?
Something like this but capable of running the pressure needed to fill scuba tanks?
My club has a tank house with ~400 tanks. A system where the tanks could be filled on the storage racks would be ideal.
I know one option would be just having a long hose, maybe on a retractable reel, with a...
I’m kind of surprised this is recommended so much. Is it because the failure rate on the SW pods is low enough not to be a legit concern? Or because you’re on two tanks and probably have a pretty good idea what your SAC rate is anyway?
I wish I read this a few weeks ago. I bought a yellow pod...
Title says it all but I'll say it again
Will the SCUBAPRO Twin Jet Max Spring Heel Straps work on the Seawing Nova fins?
I was told the posts are the same for both fins, but I want to make sure.
I prefer removing my fins using the quick-release buckle vs bungee. If it's an option I'll swap out...
IIRC Tec 40 you don't use any deco gas. You just manage plan for deco using your back/bottom gas.
I think 45 uses one deco gas and 50 used two.
It's been a while and my logs actually don't reflect this.
As soon as I bought a D4i I wish I was less poor and could afford a D6i.
Two months after I bought a Petrel I wished I hadn't... because the Petrel 2 came out. So... to answer your question: kind of, yes. ;)
I guess the need for a shallower Trimix course is because some people get narc'ed at recreational depth limits? There's a cheaper way to fix that problem... flippin dive deeper more often. ;)
Shows how much I even know about Trimix. I didn't know there were different levels. But that's coming from a guy who got his tec certs from PADI so I guess it should be expected, right? ;)
Then I guess this begs the question... is the Perdix grossly overpriced? Or maybe a better way to ask: is there a way to put dollar value on the features not on the Peregrine?
User replaceable battery (changes the form factor): I feel like this is an even trade. You give up user-replaceable...
That's the question I guess someone would need to ask themselves. Everyone has their own motivations and goals that will either put them into a Perdix/Teric/Petrel, Peregrine, or some inferior computer. ;)
Can't argue that. Which kind of brings us back to what was discussed earlier in this...
If you can afford to dive trimix you can afford a Perdix of Petrel.
Trimix is a crutch for people that can’t handle their narcosis anyway. Quit flexing and let us poors be happy. ;)
FWIW, as an instructor, I make recommendations to students for equipment. I almost always send them to DGX despite their being neither "experienced" or "technical" divers. If it's something a new diver can use and benefit from, I steer them in your direction because I've always appreciated the...
Why? What doesn't it do that a Perdix does for going through Tec 45 and 50?
You can switch gasses. Tec 50 you dive 3 gasses.
Whatever information you don't get on the main screen, keep hitting the right button and you eventually will see it.
All of the pertinent information is on the main screen...
Kind of off-topic, but I've read some complaints about the glare on the SW computers in shallow conditions and that it's not an issue with a computer like the Suunto EON Steel / Core. Curious what the difference is on the screens that one would have less glare. I've definitely noticed it on...
