    Are the lobster still around?

Those are some amazing numbers reefman! I will be in Key Largo next weekend. Do you recommend any local diving operations in Key Largo that could put me close to some lobsters?

    Are the lobster still around?

Wow! Amazing catch. Does this seem like a really good bug season or is that normal for you this time of year?

Sad view of Lauderdale by the sea

Especially in that area south of the pier, the reef is so close and healthy. Let's hope there are no hurricanes that hit the area for a really long time.

    Getting started "on the cheap"

I would spend a little more on mask and fins. A good fitting dive mask and dive fins would be very important to me. A Tusa Liberator dive mask can be found for $50 on leisurepro.com. I believe the Liberator design can also be found in other brands for cheaper now. Several brands of open heel and...

    The best BCD for women!

I bought a Pearl for my girlfriend last year. The sports bra idea seemed novel and a great idea. However, my girlfriend never found the Pearl comfortable and I sold it after a few dives. The Pearl is a lightweight BCD, I believe it had less than 20 lbs of lift. My girlfriend prefers a back...

    Curacao vs Bonaire

I used several of the maps from Scuba Shore Diving Region: ABC Islands on my trip to Curacao. Some of the beaches can be crowded on the weekends with locals. We stayed in Westpunt and enjoyed being away from any large tourist crowds.

Sad to hear about harmful incidents that could have been prevented with basic safety precautions. I hope the diver recovers quickly.

Strobe or Wide Angle Lens--Which to buy first for Great Lakes shipwreck photography?

Great topic! I just purchased an Olympus E-PL5 and had a very similiar quandary. Thank you for all the great responses. Sounds like the consensus is buy the wide angle lense and fish eye port first.

    Starting Up, Please Help!

Welcome to the exciting world of SCUBA, dbays4394! There is lots of great advice on Scubaboard about equipment and a classifieds section with items for sale. I would agree with other posters, use it before you buy it. Your dive shop can help you determine the right size of equipment for you...
