    The Shearwater Teric Announced

Unsure about other bands... but as fyi this is the one I'm using. By design, one of the pins can fail or fall out and the computer will stay on your wrist. Also, it's zero clearance on the underside of your wrist... so nothing gets caught on your suit or gear. The 30mm strap was a bit long...

    Shearwater Teric Scratch Guard

Can you elaborate a bit on the specs for the screen guard? Is it hard plastic, thin film, glass? Any pictures available with the protector installed? If not, indoor and outdoor would be appreciated. Thanks!

    The Shearwater Teric Announced

After 5 tries... finally found a perfect fit screen protector. Although others advertised as 40mm, most actually arrived as 30 or 35mm. This one's spot-on. Water hasn't evaporated yet, so picture still shows some screen haze which will eventually evaporate. Chose against glass as plastic...

    Shearwater Perdix AI

Difference is that a flooded spg goes to zero psi. When my transmitter flooded it added 700 psi to the readout... which can lead to severely different outcomes if you aren't pacing correctly.

    Shearwater Perdix AI

Nice, good heads up with transmitter design... when/if I get the AI, I'll be sure to paint it. FYI, I recently had a Suunto transmitter flood. Unfortunately, they don't always stop transmitting when it happens. In my situation, it actually began reporting bad data and jumped my psi by 700...

    Actual Experience with Shearwater AI

Looks like tank switching notifications and 2x GTR calc might be on their roadmap for a future firmware release (SW FAQ): Does the Perdix AI support sidemount configuration? The Perdix AI does support two transmitters used on tanks in a sidemount configuration, however, gas time remaining (GTR)...

    Best south-Charlotte (NC) Dive shop?

I spent some time researching shops in the Charlotte area for my AOW, Nitrox, and a few other specialties... and finally settled with Open Water Adventures (OWA). Joe, the owner, is awesome... he's a listed contributor for many of the SSI books and authored much of the content in their new...

Should SB be required reading in OW classes?

Nothing personal... and note this is coming from a relative tech-head that spends far too much time in forums and only buys online... but to me, Scuba is the last remaining bastion of "support the little guy" whenever possible. No other retailer can match what a good LDS can do to help guide you...

    Oceanic OCS vs Suunto D4i

I just picked up a Suunto D6i.... and did a LOT of RGBM research beforehand (love the D6i btw!). Here's a few links that help describe their algorithm a bit: http://ns.suunto.com/pdf/Deep_Stops_Leaflet.pdf Suunto RGBM Dive Algorithms - Suunto http://ns.suunto.com/pdf/Suunto_RGBM.pdf...
