No such thing as "old" dive gear. It may get classed as "vintage" after 40 or 50 years.:D

Hi Gingersnaps, Wow!!!! 8-7mm semi dry? This is what I dive in in Alaska! Have you considered a farmer john 5mm or full suit with a shorty vest? This may give you some flexibility if you find condition too warm. A hood is also a great idea to help stay warm. Good luck and have fun.

This has been my issue also. I think I will give up on this idea. The zippers on the ankles are a design issue to seal as well as your fears. I have found a company to replace this zipper with a regular wet suit zipper and I think this is the rout I will take. Thanks for all the info and...

Exactly Swimmer. I was thinking this would be a nice choice for shorter dives. There is also the choice of a full suit with a hooded vest. I think I will try the farmer johns and get a full suit later if this is still too cold.
