Hi, My wife and I are traveling on a cruise and were looking for tips on diving either St Thomas or St Johns. I am experienced but Lin da is a beginner, so looking for a spot/ shop that is good but mellow. Any tips or reviews would help a bunch. Thanks
Hi jersey, my wife and I are traveling to st Thomas by cruise ship in January. I am experienced but Linda is new to diving. How is st Thomas for beginners? How would you rank the dives compared to other locations? Would you use this shop again? Any tips would be great.

Hi Gingersnaps, Wow!!!! 8-7mm semi dry? This is what I dive in in Alaska! Have you considered a farmer john 5mm or full suit with a shorty vest? This may give you some flexibility if you find condition too warm. A hood is also a great idea to help stay warm. Good luck and have fun.
This has been my issue also. I think I will give up on this idea. The zippers on the ankles are a design issue to seal as well as your fears. I have found a company to replace this zipper with a regular wet suit zipper and I think this is the rout I will take. Thanks for all the info and...
My advice, Dive, Dive, Dive. Find some gear that will work for you. Don't get hung up on the fancy stuff. Find gear that works. Mismatched gear is fine, if it does the job. I dive in Alaska with a 8mm semi-dry suit for shorter dives. When I took my advanced certificate years ago one of the...
Hi, I have a Pinnacle Kodiak with a broken zipper. Used 4 times so it is like new. I have a new dry suit zipper from an old dry suit repair i gave up on. Also have the valves from this old suit. Am I crazy to convert this Kodiak into a dry suit? I am not interested in the economics of this...
Exactly Swimmer. I was thinking this would be a nice choice for shorter dives. There is also the choice of a full suit with a hooded vest. I think I will try the farmer johns and get a full suit later if this is still too cold.
I have been diving dry suit for 27 years now so I will throw my two cents in. Stoo is right, cost isn't as important to me as fit and features. I service my own and am too cheap to buy retail so a dealer nearby isn't important. For a tough suit that will stand up to a little owner abuse I would...
Thanks Eric, I was thinking along the same lines. What is topping my list is the hooded farmer john from tommyd. $149.00 isn't much to tie up in a suit if it gets abused your not.
Hi all, New here so I may have this in the wrong place. I dive in AK and have a Viking drysuit for my regular dives. But I also commercial fish for a living and a quick dive under the hull to get some web out of the prop is common. I have been looking at a wet suit for something easy to doan and...
Hi, I have a set of 2 Dacor fury adjustable 2nd stage. Both regs have the adjuster knobs broken. Can I still get these parts, if so where and how much. I love these regs and want to get them fixed.
