    Diveinn raised their prices??

Just about a year ago, I purchased the Dragonfly at at USD430, but it seems to have jumped by almost USD100. Anyone know the reason why? And just for kicks, here in Singapore, some forms of equipment are cheaper than the online stores like Simplyscuba and Diveinn. For eg. I bought my Suunto...

Looking for Good scuba Instructor on Perhentian

Well, I am just going diving but me friend wants to take her licence. So I'm looking for a place for her to learn (preferably PADI) and a place for me to dive. Don't like crowded boats but don't want to be diving off sampans either. So anybody have ideas and perhaps a hotel to stay nearby...

    Dacor Nautica Airtrim

well.... actually.. I use me tongue to push the one-way valve in while sucking the air out. It'll take a few breaths but make sure that the inside is dry and not gooey and stuff, don't want you to get some lung infection.

    Diving Sri-Lanka

I was in Sri Lanka in 2001. FYI, you should try diving at the southern points at places like Hikkaduwa and below. Diving season is NOT september, go in OCT. Visi is about 10-12m when I was there. Diving is cheaper than neighbour maladives but not as cheap as $6US per boat dive. Either that or I...

    Dacor Nautica Airtrim

I own the Mares Dragonfly at and that is the only way to rinse the insides, actually, it's in the manual isn't it? Anyway, the inflator tube in the pocket is pretty important for me, I use it prior to travelling to SUCK out all the air from the BC before packing, better than those inflator...

    Mres Volos

Let's clear up a few things here. I have used several pairs of fins since I started diving, starting off with the Tusa Cetus, The Plana Avanti and now I'm using the Volos. As mentioned earlier, the problem of the hinge cracking is only for the first generation Volos, subsequent batches are...

Scubapro Twin Jets - Graphite or black?

As far as I know, the graphite and black version depends on the type of diver that you are. The graphite is positively bouyant while the black is negatively bouyant. So the purchase depends on whether your legs float or sink, or if you rather have your fins float in the water if you happen to...

    What type fins for "Cyclists"?

I can't remember if there is a specific type, (Split fins, I think) that can help those underwater cyclists. Can anyone confirm this? Just want to know for laughs.

    Poseidon Reg (Din or Yoke)??

Well since you have a DIN reg, then you should get a DIN tank. However if your LDS can only fill up yokes, then perhaps you could get one of those tanks that can be converted from DIN-YOKE-DIN usage by removing the YOKE part and making it a DIN tank. I used those in the Maladives.

    AOW in S'pore

I'm from Singapore but I prefer to do all my courses in P.Tioman Malaysia because of a number of reasons: 1) better vis, you would want to see where you are going and what your instructor is telling you. And it can't hurt to see some better sea-life while doing the course 2) You get a more...

    What fins do you own?

I too use the Volos, love 'em. The tearing thing is true but only for the 1st generation volos, the new one don't have the same problem. Before this, I was using the Mares Plana Avanti and the Tusa Cetus.

    Mares fins

I feel that if you are small and do not possess much strength in the legs, you should consider getting split fins rather than the Quattro types, I feel that the quattros were made for more powerful people who want to go really fast. Alot of people have condemmed split fins in the past saying...
