Huh interesting. I had two 720's leak in this exact spot within a week of each other, for no apparent reason. I don't really touch anything while diving, shore diving so no handling of boat ladders etc...
Anyone try patching a pinhole in their 720's? When I used the 460/660/620/490 gloves I would use PVC cement. Worked great. Wondering if there is something that works as good on the nitrile gloves. Super glue?
I've had success using thinned aquaseal on the inside of the 720's, but that's...
Seems like it would be more accurate if it threw away the samples that read "0". For an hour dive, there should be ~ 360 samples, if 180 of those are "0" then you just halved your Average SAC rate.
Does anyone know how the average sac is calculated for a dive where the diver switches to a tank without a TX? For example, a dive conducted with a TX on your main tank(s), but then you switch to a deco tank that doesn't have a TX.
Obviously the Perdix keeps track of the SAC for the entire...
Where in MN are you? I'm interested in these.
Curious about the size. The Apeks size chart says medium is 35-37 waist. Does that match up with your normal pants size? I normally wear a 32 pants but would be wearing these over a drysuit.
Well put FBK. I agree wider isn't always better. I'm rigging up a caddy on my tray so I can take the lens off when the situation doesn't require the lens. I had the same setup before I starting shooting with a GoPro. I used a Flip and an Ikelite WD-20 lens, I had the option of screwing the...
I noticed the soft corners but I don't think it "ruins" the footage at all. It's pretty minimal in my opinion. How often is your subject of interest that close to the corner? Did you notice the corners before it was mentioned? I think the other benefits out weigh the soft corners.
Good...
I've been using the lens for a few weeks now and really enjoy it. Like ETJ said, it can be hard to find suitable subjects. Shooting fish presents the most challenge, if you can get close it really looks fantastic. I wish I had the lens on my trip to Truk Lagoon last winter, it would be great...
Care to share the link or search terms used to find it? I tried the part number 9530.1, "Ikelite Compact Video Handle", and "Ikelite Video Handle" with no results.
Out of the box it will do fine but you'll get much better results with the LCD backpac, a filter, and light. Here is one if my examples. http://youtu.be/UijMs1U6_Y8
Take your time getting comfortable in the water before you start worrying about shooting video. You may have heard a term in your certification process "task loading". Don't try to take on too much on while you're new ;) Shooting good video takes lots of practice just like becoming good at...
Recently returned from two weeks in Bonaire. It was my first time shooting with the gopro in the ocean. I had previously used a 2nd generation Flip on my dive trips with good results but finally upgraded last summer. My video rig is a H3B, with SRP CYD filter, and Ikelite Pro-2800 video...
