I’m in the same boat. My original AN/DP instructor cannot teach helitrox, so I have to find someone else and do the full thing just to be able to put a bit of helium in to take the edge off the narcosis.

That stuff is getting expensive. Looks like for a dive to 150’, we should aim for something like 25/25 then. END of 102’ and PPO2 of 1.4 at max depth. Still a lot of $$$, but worthwhile to avoid a “mush brain” or having no memories of the dive afterwards.

Is there a way to upgrade TDI AN/DP to Helitrox? I’d like to be able to use 21/35 for cold water dives where I get easily narced on air, but have no interest in going deeper than 150’. Or is taking the normoxic trimix course the better, or perhaps only option?

There is no way that 40cm difference in depth can result in that kind of a difference in CNS loading. Something else must be going on here.
