Question PPX Air Pressure Response Slow at Air ON/OFF

PPX not used for over 6mos....When doing a gear check for the next dive, I noticed that the air pressure only slowly went up over 5 minutes, but ended up with an accurate pressure. Pressure change came down the same rate as it went up, after air turned off and pressure purged. Is this a known...

MK20 UL with 3 Vent Saddle

Was the MK20 UL subject to the same MK20 recall to replace the yoke nut and saddle? Thanks in advance.

    Mantis 2.0 and Transmitter Pairing

They were older transmitters. One oil filled the other user replaceable battery. When the new transmitter arrived, it paired quickly. Now....about d/l dives to LogTRACK!!!:banghead:

    Mantis 2.0 and Transmitter Pairing

Anyone else have an issue with pairing? I am waiting on another transmitter, just in case it is bad. Battery is good, but it is an older "triangular" transmitter, with no LED on the end, so I have no idea if it is even activating when pressurized. Also, is there a trick to Cradle/USB...

    Scubapro Watch Cradle Part Numbers

Are the cradles for the Chromis, Mantis, Mantis2, the same cradle? I think they are the same part number, which suggests there would be no difference, yet they have different prices.

    Costs of diving$$$

Try having 4 divers in the family! We actually have 14 divers in our "Friends and Family" group. If we want to boat dive, chartering is cheaper than buying seats. We do MANY shore dives. Yeah, the early drive there and the late drive home (if we want to travel to a less dived location)...

Your thoughts wanted on getting a ten year old certified.

My 11 year old LOVES to dive. Does not like beach dives though, because of having to walk with the gear. So you have a point, hammet. I have a son, and he watched an 11 year old girl carry all her gear up the beach and back to the truck (while he whined and cried at the waterline), so I am...

    R190 Parts?

couv, Thanks for the reply. Looks like NotSure might have a better fit for me. Cheers!

    R190 Parts?

I like to restore older SP dive equipment (therapeutic hobby :)). I currently have a MK2/ R190 set that I am piecing together. It came to me, post Irma, with no cover, diaphragm, or ring. I have manged to find these parts (on that e place), but the cover does not have a purge button with it...

Scubapro Hydros Pro BCD - Monoprene attachment hole ripped

I have another 30 or so dives on mine since my last post, and still no problem. I also seem to have the plastic "crossbar" from the picture of the SP modified straps that softgrapes posted in May, so I obviously got a unit that had already been manufactured subject to the SP modification.

Likelihood of getting oxygen toxicity at 1.4 PPO

My .02.....If PADI and other international certifying agencies use a PO2 of 1.4 with a contingency of 1.6 max as their limits, and claim this is safe for recreational diving, then the conservatism is already built into their guidelines. Certainly there may be extenuating circumstances such as...

    SP Part Number

Does SP sell a combo LPI Hose/Removable AIR2 QD rather than buying the 2 separate parts? I have the hose (01.310.026) and the QD (21.009.006) Just wondering if there is a SP part number for the combo that includes both, and what the list is? If there is a resource I can use to look it up...

Scubapro Hydros Pro BCD - Monoprene attachment hole ripped

How did you get the "revised" straps? I am still not having issues, but if SP has a revised part, they've conceded it is a known problem. Thanks for the info!

    Any thoughts on wreck looting?

Contracted salvage aside.....if it's a grave site, BAD mojo in my book.....But I guess the loophole is if it's a treasure recovery, of historical value.

    GoPro declining usage?

This is what I do, Nick. It keeps my hands free but it can get pretty herky-jerky because I look all around, but when I know I am going to try to use certain footage, I make sure to move slowly and keep my head still. It works for me, though sometimes it's still like watching roller coaster video.

    GoPro declining usage?

I just roll for the entire dive. Any cool stills can be pulled out of the video, anyway. Gotta agree with you there.

    GoPro declining usage?

Still use mine. I'm not sure about the rest of you, but after 30+ years, I still see things I have never seen, and things that are "cooler" than the last time I saw them. Editing and cutting scenes together is a nice way to remember/reflect on a particular dive. Now that my kids are diving...

    Snorkeling with kids

Start in the pool for basic skills and comfort level. Many things can interfere with this at a snorkeling site, even somewhere as perfect as Blue Heron Bridge. Visibility, salt water in eyes/mouth, marine life, just to name a few, can be a major distraction while learning the basics. I'm not...

Why the hate/ridicule for split fins?

I still have a set of the Dacor black foot pocket, white translucent jet blades from '83. They are like having 2X12's duct taped on your feet!....haven't been able to use them in a decade (I feel kinda old at this point). I MUCH preferred my SP Twin Jets, both full foot and open heel. I...
