In warm water diving with a 3mm I need 18lbs for shark tooth diving to keep me down in shallower water. If not wearing a 3mm then I need about 14lbs negative. Typically I wear a 5lb steal plate and a 6lb weighted sta with 6lbs lead on a belt.
Yeah but the most recent place we dove only had soft weights so no weight belt option. This is why I’m trying to get a BC setup as opposed to a wing harness. I have lots of wings, plates and harnesses so really don’t need anymore of those options.
Honestly some people love or hate the aqualung fusion drysuits but I think they are about as good as it gets for a budget because you do not need to really get them fitted. I’ve dove trilams and currently dive a fusion bullet. My body weight fluctuates and I don’t fit standard sizes well so it...
i dive back plate wings when doing local lake and quarry diving. I am technical trained. Local diving I use drysuit and doubles. I’ve done the travel backplate wing for tropical diving and while I love diving plates and wings I admit I get jealous of my friends simplicity of their travel BC...
im looking to buy two smaller flashlights. I did the whole large plastic light deal and disliked it. I’m looking for something I can put a bolt snap on and clip it to my harness. My budget is 150$ or less for one light (I will likely buy two a primary and a backup). My dad is only looking to...
All,
I have been diving for about 6 years now and ive actually progressed into the intro to tech diving world so I am not a complete novice BUT I admit calculating what wing lift would be suitable for warm water diving has me scratching my head. I am 99% a cold fresh water diver. I dive steel...
One of the big benefits of going from backmount doubles to side mount was so I wouldn’t have to carry the heavy weight to the beach from where we suit up. Backmount was a pain doing this.
Just finished watching it and wow. Crazy. I recommend people with it. It’s about a real life saturation dive which goes horribly wrong. I don’t want to ruin it for anyone but it’s a good documentary with some real life footage.
Depends on the dive. For example I dive this lake from time to time where there are some deep spots. Many of these spots are areas where people drop stuff so ill head down to those areas quick (minding my NDL of course) and then head up. For those dives, I just stick with air as I go to those...
honestly no idea. We purchased the house 2 years ago. The house is old! This was in our garage, which is newer than the house but still old (70s/80s?) The insulation is yellow and pink in color. Two different kinds is my guess).
ok here is a weird situation. I went and unpacked my scuba gear and found a mouse decided to make a nest inside my regulator bag and got insulation all over my regs. Theoretically this should only be on the outside of the regs but I’m not sure what to do? I do believe insulation is bad for you...
I use a sms75 for my cold water diving with steel tanks and it works for me. I heard it also is less than desirable for sidemount but works for My purposes. Maybe I’ll look for a used sms50 for warm water sidemount since I’d imagine they come up at decent prices
not to hi-jack but what about just getting two rigs (assuming money is not too much of a problem?). I myself am looking at a dedicated warm water rig.
Anyone have recommendations on dedicated warm water rigs....where I would be diving a bathing suit with rash guard, 3mm shorty or at most a 3mm...
All,
I am planning on buying the Virgo system for my drysuit but not sure what size showa 720 gloves I should get, especially if I plan on wearing a glove liner. I typically wear men's size large winter glove for reference. I skinny fingers which would normally fit a medium sized winter glove...
