@Diving Dubai very well reasoned post and I really think this is what it boils down to. I am not a technical diver, but I am starting a technical path of training and have nearly completed my NAUI Intro to Tech, as my skills improve I plan on getting trimix certified. Even with all this, do I...
I won't open that pandora's box as it is outside the scope of this post, other than there are two primary trains of thought when it comes to decompression algorithms, and neither are perfect as both are based on pure math which cannot be directly applied to human physiology, one day when we have...
Thanks for the feedback, if the lockout is truly there simply as a CYA move from Suunto's perspective than that is disappointing. If I do get any feedback from Suunto on this issue specifically with their technical diving computers I will update this post.
I fully understand how the unit works, and I am fully aware that it will lockout if violating a deco stop by more than 2 feet for more than 3 min. What I meant by my previous statement was that I would be fine if it wanted to penalize you after such actions after you ascended, such a function...
# tbone1004 I did not say I was ok with it locking out after a safety violation. I said I was fine if it wanted to restrict further diving after violating a deco stop after the dive is complete. If I did blow through a deco stop I would not be in any hurry to get back in the water. Having...
Hi @Diving Dubai
Thanks for your feedback, I might just take you up on your offer for more info. I guess the reality and simple solution to the issue of the unit locking out is to have backup wet notes or slate notes, (assuming any other Suunto dive computer would result in a lockout)...
I have been doing some research on the Eon Steel with an interest in potentially investing in what appears to be a well designed and thought out unit, I am also interested and quite confident in the advances made in the RGBM algorithm especially the fused RGBM as found on the Eon Steel. However...
Hi there, I am going to be in the Clearwater this weekend, intersection of S Belcher and Nursery road. Unfortunately the weather appears to be a wash out with respect to any boat charters in the Gulf. :( Wondering if anybody knows of a couple good sheltered shore dive spots either on the east...
Thank you just looking for simple shores dives, what's left of the Morrison for starters I guess. Never been up there before.

This is the link to the newer GOodman adapter for the newer solo bodies: Goodman Handle Adapter - Light & Motion

According to L&M I can screw the rectangular shaped adapter (shown in the middle of the picture) into the body of the...
Thanks Ken I actually purchased the light second hand so it did not come with the d-ring kit which I aware of, the stupid part of the dring kit is that it's either or, you cannot have it with the handle that it comes with and the dring at the same time which is why "tursiops" above modified it...
Thank you for your tip, Quote "I also use a QRM hand-mount for my SOLA Tech, so if it were to fail I can remove it, clip it off, and move the helmet SOLA to my hand to finish the dive." This is pretty much the functionality that I am looking for except in my case as a non cave diver I am...
I recently acquired a second hand Sola Tech 600, I would like to know if anybody has had any success attaching a solid "Goodman" style handle to one of these lights. I would like to find a way to easily remove the light and attach it via a snapbolt to my chest d-ring while diving. The Velcro...
Probably have room for a 3mm vest, won't the woollen socks get heavy when wet? I have some thick hiking socks but doubt i could squeeze them in the boot. Never heard of the packs will look into it too thanks.
