    Dive culture in Vancouver

Hey everyone, I have an opportunity to move to Vancouver, I really want to, as I like the outdoors and having an ocean and a mountain nearby is awesome! I have a bunch of questions and need your help. - Can you dive year round with a 7mm full wetsuit? Or is a 14mm or dry suit necessary? -...

Off the beaten path - Dive Master Training locations?

I calculated $1500 USD for the DM course + materials + PADI fees. Assuming I do 100+ dives in 8-10 weeks that's $15/dive (I know there will be a lot of repeat dives, but still) For fun diving, assuming its $25-30 / dive (discounted rate), then its $2500 - $3000 for 100 dives ( higher quality...

    Air consumption

I don't understand.. how does the regulator change ease of breathing without controlling air flow? If it constricts air flow by reducing the diameter of an opening, then theoretically speaking the volume of air delivered should be lower ( assuming the same amount of suction force ). Maybe I'm...

    Air consumption

If your regulator comes with an air flow setting, then try setting it on low.

padi ow, why is CESA recommended to 9m?

In my last OW dive the instructor told me to do a CESA from 30 feet (in the ocean, full tank, reg in mouth). In recreational diving scenarios, lets say you are lost, or buddy is missing and you are OOA..what are you supposed to do??? CESA makes sense and I think every OW student should learn...

    How you met scuba diving

I was vacationing in Guatemala when I met a cute brunette who told me about the OW course (she was a master scuba diver trainer with thousands of dives). I did the OW course in Roatan that weekend hoping it would "impress" her and we could stay in touch etc..Oh well that plan didn't work, but I...
