I think the primary lesson here is being missed. It's great that you had the presence of mind to stay calm and get yourself out of a bad situation, but real lesson here is that if it's "debatable" conditions don't do the dive. Thumb it before you put you're self in an ugly situation.

WAVES Project will be out there on Saturday with some wounded warriors and their buddies going through an OW class. Sounds like the conditions are still going to be pretty good for class.

Mine isn't in the water, but immediately after exiting the water. I was diving with three wounded warriors and their buddies. All are on their first open water dive for an PADI OW class. Getting to see the look in their eyes after the dive and talk about how SCUBA helped them. Priceless.

No clue about sizing. I know they are split on the back and I'd bet with some gentle heating they could be stretched open. Might make it easier that way to slide on from the side, rather than over the finger.
