I've only done cage diving in SA and it was at Gansbaai I believe. I can't remember the company we went with but they picked us up from the waterfront. They pour fish oils and blood into the water to attract the sharks, not sure I would want to go scuba diving in that!

I've just been to Lanzarote, great diving. Not sure of any shops that will pick up from a cruise terminal but I dived with Manta Diving.

I am not stuck at all on Suunto, I am actually quite flexible - I just want a Dive Computer that I can grow with...and everyone just seems to have a Suunto? Almost every instructor I have had used one. They seem to be the Casio's of the underwater world...and petrel's probably the rolex? Lol...

Hey Kari! Love to have met you guys too! I am sure we will be seeing each other underwater very very soon. I think Cozumel more so than Canada - I don't think I have the balls for water that cold just yet haha! But I never say never ;)

OP: Really interested to know what you went with as I'm looking at Suunto at the moment now but find it to be like marmite. Some love them and some really hate them. I am looking at novo D4i or D6i.

Just did Manta Point yesterday, with 15 dives, and it was wonderful. There is the notorious surge and some currents. Spotted four mantas, one was around 5m at least and a nurse shark. Can't speak for Raja Ampat but the flights required put me off it. Also did Crystal Bay (thermocline!) and Nusa...

Currently at Liberty Dive Resort too, but for the hot showers that don't last too long and the turtle speed wifi, they are really great and at 65usd a night! Rooms are so clean and staff so friendly. Food is also pretty decent. I didn't dive with them though, I have been diving with Aquamarine...

Did Tulamben (2 day dives - go super early before it gets rammed with people, did one early dive and 2nd had not so great visibility and 1 night dive - thrilling! Spotted a giant moray eel and quite a few turtles) Manta Point and Crystal Bay - tons of Mantas at cleaning station, great viz, tons...

Interesting reading this! Should I be worried that Nusa Penida is on the 2nd day of my AOW course! Considering I have less than 20 dives and currently only OW? I have been reading a lot about heading to Komodo but I am starting to see that this may be biting more than I can chew.

Chilli just wondering what you have ended up going with? I have been looking at Wicked too but I am afraid the reviews are a bit hit or miss as well...although I love that they have a shorter 3 day itinerary.

Thanks Camilo, I looked up Wicked Diving, looks great and interestingly enough they have a schedule that fits perfectly into mine. I'm going to create another thread now as my questions might just overtake this conversation!

Wow this trip sounds great! I'm off to Bali today and just figuring out what I want to do as well. Sort out my AOW and then do a Komodo live aboard and Bunaken island. Not sure if I can fit all this in two weeks? What live aboard have you selected?
