Question about Perdix and Transmitter Rubber O-rings

Same here, just did it yesterday - well spent 2 bucks once a year. When replacing the O-Ring keep in mind to pull it over the slotted side of the cap, not the threaded side to avoid damaging the new ring :)

scubapro galileo HUD has anyone got any experience with this dive computer

Does Scubapro have Buehlmann or VPM meanwhile or are they still using their proprietary algorithms?

    RMV vs SAC rate

Since the SAC on the Perdix merely is a better guess, because it completely ignores some high pressure effects, I don't rely on it too much anyway. It's interesting how much influence Z-Values have on calculations - impressive to see when comparing to subsurface's calculated RMV/SAC.

    Shearwater Desktop vs Shearwater Cloud

Though the interface of Subsurface is far from perfect, it has some features I badly miss in Cloud. Mostly the auto suggest feature of the Buddy and Location Fields. Most of my dives are with the same couple of buddies at the same couple of locations, haviong to enter them completely every time...

Nonprofit GUE has been working to improve the scuba industry for 20 years

I guess that is, what it breaks down to in the end. I'd rather choose my trainer based on skills than on the agency.

Nonprofit GUE has been working to improve the scuba industry for 20 years

That's one of the reasons why I have a hard time to think of GUE as non profit. Plus the affiliation to Halcyon, Santi - Honi soit...

    diving with a transmitter

I prefer the computer on my right wrist anyway, not because I'm left handed, but I found it more comfortable when practicing to rescue another diver using his bcd to have the computer always in sight while my left arm is rather holding the victims inflator up :) Extending the tx with a short...

Shearwater Perdix AI not seeing the transmitter

I replaced the battery on my transmitter a couple of weeks ago and it works just fine. Maybe it's some kind of faulty batch. Are you guys using the Shearwater branded transmitter or some other? I'm using an Aqualung branded transmitter. I know, technically they are the same but maybe this helps...

    Smokers *and* ex-Smokers take note!

Quite fatalistic approach... might as well say, if I'm going to die anyway I can kill myself right away, why all the hassle inbetween?

    Smokers *and* ex-Smokers take note!

Point was rather time as a factor and my guess is, that time contributes to the risk for bullae as to the other conditions mentioned in the article. So I would make the decision to go or not to for a preventive CT depending on how long I quit smoking. If you just have quit for a couple of...

I'm the happy owner of a new-to-me Perdix AI

Confirmed... I wonder how hard it can be to fix that... Since February they are struggeling with this. One might get the impression, Perdix users have become second class since the arrival of Teric :(

From WHO-Site: 1. There are immediate and long-term health benefits of quitting for all smokers. Beneficial health changes that take place: Within 20 minutes, your heart rate and blood pressure drop. 12 hours, the carbon monoxide level in your blood drops to normal. 2-12 weeks, your...

    Florida recommendations

Hi there :) if I'd like to dive some clear and warm waters (no cave or cavern diving, just recreational OC diving, 150 ft. max) in late August / early September, preferably inland lakes or springs, what would be a good place to go to in Florida? Is the region north of Orlando around Ocala...

AI transmitter damage when directly connected to 1st stage

Yep... my tank tipped over on a boat and the transmitter of my Vyper Air was the first thing to hit the deck leaving a small crack in the transparent bottom part of the transmitter. I didn't notice until it died a couple of minutes into the dive. Sent it to Suunto, but it was fubar. Having it...
