We've been to several of the sites but we really liked Frying Pan Tower. Long ride to get there but lots of sea life. Might want t look at You Tube. Used to be lots of Sand Tigers on the Hyde & Markham but don't know where they have gone to. Have fun.
FYI,,, we have two seats open for the Morehead City trip 13-16 June, diving U-352. Got over 12 going and need a few more. If you have Facebook, look at Rowan Salisbury Scuba Divers, to get more details. Thanks,
Hey Tom;
We got three seats open on our June trip to Morehead City, U-352. Can you make it ? Trying to get the word out so I don't have to cancel rooms and get all the seats on the boat. 13-16 June. Any ideas. Thanks,
Hey guys;
I just posted our first trip going to Morehead City in June. If any of you can go, let me know and I can give you all the info. Our first time on U352 so any suggestions appreciated.
Our group has scheduled a dive trip June 13-16. Going to use Discovery Dive Shop and going to U352 and a few more dives TBD. Our plan is to book all the seats on the boat and we have 10 by last count. Our group is mainly Fire and EMS people and have been diving together for several years...
Last trip of the year and Key West was really good. Weather was good (sunny and hot, low 90's) we did a shallow reef dive. I liked Lost Reef Adventures and crew did an excellent job. Water was almost flat, best I have seen there and could see bottom at 27 ft. They had divers and some snorkling...
Depending on the day of the week, you might have a shelter to get under. We camped and cooked off our stove. There are fire pits at each shelter and wood stacked not far away. Next morning we had 8 cars come in and a dive group doing classes. If you go, the water could be cool, so take gear as...
Maybe you have already made a decision on where to go, but suggest looking my favorite, "Key West". I do an annual trip and always enjoy it. Saw you are DC area, and if either are active or retired military, you can get rooms through MWR and reduced rates. WIll save you $$ on rooms and can...
Vis is not always the best. American and Lake Norman quarry can be 10 ft or less. We always enjoyed going to Rawlings and camping. Always have pretty good vis and the night dive is very good.
Our group is in the Concord area. Wish we could dive more, but we dive when not working. We do a Wilmington trip annually and also Lake Phoenix. Mainly quarry's quick and close by for us. Glad for you to join us if up this way.
Lake Phoenix dive: The new owners have done a lot of work. There is a new painter dive sign at the entrance and a new sign with the Phoenix and the name. The building used for classes has a new coat of paint as does the check in building, 100% better that what was there. Camp sites and covered...
We had a good dive today at American Quarry. Vis was not that great and water was warm till 36 ft. Bathing suit was fine and enjoyed the dive. Enjoyed getting wet and not at home doing "honey do" list.
Going to Lake Phoenix 11-12 August if anyone wants to join us. Doing night dive and...
Just to wrap up this item I started. Weather was very good and had two good days of diving. Vis was 80 ft or better. Sue's ledge had lots of fish as did 23 mile ledge. Second day at Frying Pan Tower and Captain Mickey wreck was also good and you could see the wreck from surface. Group is...
If you want to come as far as Wilmington, then Aquatic Safaris would be a suggestion. Only issue is don't ask for a certain mix of Nitrox. They just fill the tanks and you check the O2 Analyzer. I asked for 32% and offered me something less. Just ask for a different tank and see if they can get...
Hey Rebreather Diver & Dive Master... we have 6 divers in our group. One is planning on going to the PDRA swap meet at American Quarry on 16 May to see if any others want to get on the trip. Just some additional Info: 9 June is travel day to Wilmington, get checked in and be at dock on 10...
