    Trip Report: Loreto

Thanks for your honest feedback @hiker11. Im Yago, one of the owners. It saddens me to read that it was not a good day out, it really weighs on me when things do not go well for our guests. I can not know exactly what day it was but according to what you describe, i have a rough idea of when it...

    Trip Report: Loreto

Hey there! Yago here, one of the owners of Blue Nation! Just a little bit of information about the sale of the shop. Regardless of being looking for investors/buyers we are operating normally and there is no deadline whatsoever. We are currently developing other projects locally, some of them...

Hey Jiiim! Looking forward to see you guys again. You are cool, I dind't mean anything by the comment, I was just expanding the information. As you pointed out, we CAN'T WAIT for all this turmoil to fade away, It's been really exhausting for all of us I'm sure....

Diving school with nature conservation focus

Hi guys, we run Blue Nation Diving, in Loreto (www.bluenationbaja.com) and exploration and conservation is actually or main focus. We run dedicated reef cleanups, and in all honestly we do clean the reef everytime we dive anyway. We don't use single use plastics, we offer bio-degradable sun...

    Diving Mexico Recommendations

If you want to get out of the beaten track, go to the Sea of Cortez. The biodiversity there is quite something compared to the caribbean, so is the amount of fish in general. It is also more remote and the landscapes are pristine and dramatic. Dive operations tend to be small outside Cabo and so...

    Cabo Pulmo vs. Loreto

Well, @BCSGratefulDiver as covered plenty already, and there are no many people that woud know more about diving in Loreto than him at this point. Just to add to what @BCSGratefulDiver, to me, the main difference between Pulmo and Loreto is diversity. Pulmo is a very succesful but small marine...

I've been away deom the boards for a long while, guess is time to dive in again! My opinion could be kinda biased of course, so I'll try to be as much informative...

First trip to Baja: Sea of Cortez liveaboard or Cabo Pulmo land-based?

You can e-mail us at info@bluenationbaja.com and we can put you in the right direction accommodation wise. If you eventually dive with us, we also have some preferential rates with lodging options

First trip to Baja: Sea of Cortez liveaboard or Cabo Pulmo land-based?

October -November is a great time to visit the Cortez all around. Great viz, warm mater, low winds! Cabo Pulmo is great at that time of the year, but as somebody mentioned, it would be busy then and spots are limited on divesites. You must plan this with time ahead and make sure you ask whether...

Sea of Cortez instead of Coz?

The Sea of Cortez is very different to the waters around Coz so I guess it's all a matter of knowing when and what to do there. Visibility is on its best in summer and fall months (60-100 ft). Winter and spring can have superb viz as well but it's very dependent on upwelling currents and...

Looking for Info on La Paz, Baja

Diving in La Paz is great and if you ask me, very worthwhile. But yes, boat rides tend to be long and you are looking for a full-day tour just for a couple of dives. Nothing wrong about that, but just be aware. If there is some wind, it can be an unpleasent experience. Bigger boats fare a bit...

First time to Los Cabos (Cabos San Lucas) -- basic questions...

I dove Cabo many times, with Manta. They are a good operation and conveniently located in front of the marina. I do enjoy diving in Land's End and Neptune's rock. You can see some reef sharks, sea lions and the scenery is pretty. Diving in Cabo, compared to the rest of Baja is probably the worst...

Mobula Rays night dive/snorkel at La Paz - what time of year

July is a really good month to spot them. I'd say your chances are high. We are already seeing them in Loreto and it's been great so far. Mobulas tend to stay until October, but their numbers decrease slowly after July-August. We have uploaded a nice video of the mobulas in Loreto, just a...

    Diving out of Loreto

Although there have been some incidents in the past couple of years, I can say hands down that Baja is an overall safe place. Driving down Baja is a common practice and crime related incidents are the exception rather than the norm. The cartels caused some fuzz like year and a half ago and...

Trip Report Diving with Blue Nation in Loreto Mexico

You are not that old! Great pic from an angle I don't usually see the island from! Right there in front there are a set of submerged pinnacles that make some of the best dive sites in Loreto.
