    Tres Pelicanos - August 2017 - Review

I just returned from a week of diving with Tres Pelicanos on Cozumel. The service was excellent for experienced divers looking to dive their tanks. We went on morning 2-tank dives, afternoon 2-tank dives, and 1 night dive. Some divers were picked up at resort piers on the way out, and others...

Differing skill levels on group dives...

On a recent trip, my dive buddy and I were with a group of less experienced divers. Our dives were always very short and after about 25 to 30 minutes of rushing around in a tight pack, we were meandering around below the boat in relatively shallow water seemingly waiting for people to do their...

Close call in a cave - 60 hours inside, alone.

"Three months ago, Xisco Gràcia experienced what he describes as every diver's worst nightmare - he found himself without oxygen in an underwater cave, relying on an air pocket for survival. As hours turned into days he realised he might not be found in time." Two days in an underwater cave...

Hello, I am a very amateur photgrapher about ready to move up from a GoPro. I am considering the G7X or TG-4. Both are available to me with housings and within my budget. The Canon with a Fantasea housing, and the Olympus with one of theirs. Are there any major differences between the two...

Trim Weights - What to expect?

Hello Everyone, I am curious what to expect if I shift some weight to the trim weight pouches on my tank band. I have an Aqua Lung Axiom i3 and dive with 14lbs in the integrated. I was thinking of trying 5lbs in each of the integrated pouches, and putting 2 in each trim pouch. Looking...

Would Key Largo Disappoint by comparison...

Hello. I have a week in August to go diving, and am considering Key Largo for the sake of simplicity. I have been to Bonaire, Curacao, The Cayman Islands, and Cozumel all multiple times. I was wondering if spending a week in Key Largo would be quite similar but pale somewhat in comparison. I...

Getting Your Weighting Right For Proper Buoyancy

I read once, that with proper weighting, at the surface, BC fully deflated, you should be eye-level with the water's surface with lungs full. Exhale and down you go. This procedure worked well for me. Curious to know if it sounds right to others, and any other techniques useful for new divers.
