I'm not sure as I am not which dive operation they are using, but if he is not carpooling with other diving from Seoul then its likely the easiest way is bus to Gangneung, then taxi.
I highly recommend you contact Tim at expatdiversinkorea@gmail.com to inquire if there are open spots available...
I was lucky enough to have scuba divo join me on 2 occasions this year to remove underwater trash at my adopted Dive Against Debris location. good times.
We tried to arrange the trip above, but in a private chat and going through it the tour operator cancelled and said he would not take he...
We are putting together a team! Saturday scuba_divo is joining me for Dive Against Debris in Pohang! Any others are welcome and encouraged!
Afterward we are thinking to do some boat diving at the nearby dive shop in the afternoon. Pohang has an event going on where they are paying 50% of dive...
This dive ended up getting cancelled due to the dive operator stating there were storm advisories for Saturday and Sunday. We will reschedule and I will bump this thread at that time.
Its happening. I'm not sure how it will play out as it might be a rainy day.....but poor man's Jeju is upon us and no matter what I am going!
These kinds of things would be fun but as already discussed, planning is near impossible to satisfy all parties. All i can do it set my own plan, and...
I am confirming that tomorrow but yes, usually around that time. As it stands now you and Scuba_divo are coming. I needed to get an idea of how many people before i make a formal reservation with the guy.
If you are renting any gear and are not of a typical Korean size please let me know your...
It was talked about, and now it is happening. I am planning to go down to Namhae for some isle diving this Saturday (July 8) . Anyone interested in joining is more than welcome.
I will be diving with Sea Dragon Dive resort. Its a dive shop in the middle of a city area with plenty of...
Hello to all you beautiful people. Please hemp me identify these species for my PADI AWARE Dive Against debris report.
The two fish were black with what appeared to be peach-colored splotches. The sea slug I have identified. Extra points in anyone can ID the flatfish also. This was in South...
To be fair I'm not familiar with any dive shops there. But my Korean is near fluent and its not difficult to get some recommendations for a good dive resort, contact them myself and set everything up. I do it with the dive resort in Gangneung for diving the Stella wreck, and others!I
It's not...
I would agree and diving down south does sound fun! I'm also planning to dive several spots in Namhae this year. I'm fine to do it alone but if anyone is interested in joining that could be super fun also!
Expat Divers in Korea ( facebook group, and legit business now) are probably the first...
Cheer up. This kind of forum is a bit ancient. Divers love it because most of them are older and remember the days of Netscape.
Most people these days organize by facebook.
I spoke with Tim recently, and he is starting up the Expat Divers in Korea group again. It is now apparently a legit and registered business and he plans on organizing dive excursions for foreigners! That was how is started out 5 years ago but it turned into merely training dives for students...
Yes. My point was these settlements are not the millions of dollars as they are in the US or Europe. Even the families of children killed by people running red lights are lucky to see more than 10,000 USD.
I think this really depends on the dive shop. I have seen some super professional and safety conscious shops that follow the book in terms of safety, and then others that were down right dangerous and had me fearful for me safety.
One in particular was a flat bottom boat with NO way to secure...
It is almost as if you could not be bothered to click the links and investigate yourself. Is the water chemically treated? Click the link and find out! Why are you asking this poster questions that are beyond the scope of the post? He is posting information.....why are you all up on him to post...
Awesome stuff, and I'm glad we wont get any annoying childish emojis about the lack of pictures! This is great information and I hope we can fill this South Korean forum with more stuff like this and solidify the foreign community here!
