    Bonaire Restaurants?

Three of my favorites didn't make your list: Garden Cafe - A great place to eat lunch. The Vegetarian Plate is delicious: Hummus, Baba Ghanoush, Tabouli. The fresh fruit juices are great! Wil's Tropical Grill - Several amazing fish dishes and awesome desert. Lions Den - A great variety of...

Passport - Wow that was fast!

Aware of all the delays my friends encountered in getting passport renewals this time last year, I mailed my passport off for renewal on the afternoon of February 19th. I chose not to mark it "expedited" (and thus saved paying an extra $60 plus shipping). I expected to see it back on the later...

Question about (+) Rating on my tank

You can ask to have the plus renewed at your next hydro, but if you discover your LDS is still filling it to 2640 or more it is not as big a deal.

Question about (+) Rating on my tank

Jimmer is right. Technically, 2400 is the service pressure now, so you have a 110cf tank. The better question is, what does your LDS typically fill it to? 2400? 2700? 3000?

    Bonaire Dive Profile Help

Ditto. While at a southern site a dive buddy of mine (who was wearing a shorty) brushed a buoy rope with the back of her calf while swimming by it. She had a nice red firecoral souvenir-stripe on her leg the rest of the week.

XTX FST, MK17 or DS4 for twins

I have almost all of the regs in question. I own MK25/S600s, Mk17/S600s, XTX50/DS4s, and XTX200/FSRs. They are all great regs with only minor issues of preference differentiating them. The MK25/S600s are probably in the best "tune" right now for breathing performance. However, like DA I prefer...

22" LP hose? That seems really short

I appear to be the exception in this thread. I've got 22" LP hose on my Apeks XTX200 left post reg, and it is just right.

    And You Rinse it Everytime?

I doubt you bring your regs in looking like that. Did you miss the part where the customer thought his reg was supposed to be green? That isn't a normal reg service. An extra fee is certainly warranted.

Which size ScubaPro Jet Fin XL or XXL?

I have the size 10 Bare attached boots. They have a thinner sole than the Trek boots and they are a very snug fit in XL Jet fins. With the Trek boots you will likely need Turtle Fins or XXL Slipstreams. The XXL Jet Fin will be WAY too big.

Can anyone recommend a mail order reg service shop?

My Scubapro Technician class had at least 5 people from Airtech in it taking refreshers. Most of them knew enough to be teaching the class.

Any reason to not go steel?

That is not entirely true. Don't confuse dry weight with buoyancy. For instance, a Luxfer AL80 weighs about 31lbs empty. So does a Faber LP-85. If you tossed each of those empty tanks into the water, the AL80 would be 4.4lbs positive and the LP-85 would be neutral. That is 4.4 pounds in extra...

    Bare Trilam HD Tech Dry Pro's & / Con's?

Agreed. One of my pockets usually has a 50lb SMB and a spool or two in it with room to spare. The other usually has an extra mask and wetnotes in it with lots of room to spare. Bare does have several pocket options. Perhaps evil_xander saw the knife pocket.

    Bare Trilam HD Tech Dry Pro's & / Con's?

I own one. I disagree about the factory pockets. I have the velcro bellows pockets, and they work quite well. They are better constructed and easier to use than the pockets on my X-shorts. The suspenders are overpriced and do not work very well. The suit is very durable. I installed a P-valve...

    Hiring a guide/coach

You should be able to arrange guided dives with most Cave instructors (for a fee, of course). Alternately, some instructors will let you tag along with classes they are teaching (as long as you hold a cert that qualifies you to do the dives the class requires). You can learn some interesting...

Why doesn't PADI manufacture dive gear?

    Maybe it's Netdoc's sockpuppet.
