Woman dead, husband injured on 230 meter dive - Greece

Exactly my view. I don't understand why we keep seeing attempts to break depth world records in scuba diving (and in many categories???). The science hasn't changed that much in the later years, the same limitations scientists have found and managed to create the protocols for saturated diving...

Woman dead, husband injured on 230 meter dive - Greece

More info in Greek media. If the articles are right, the both felt sick at depth (230 meters???) and the woman become disoriented and didn't follow the planned accent profile and her husband managed to make a 3 hour accent with the help of safety divers before he was air-lifted to the...

I hope it is a Aprils Fool Joke. Any sources? Well done for him! But what did the diving research gained from this dive? Almost near to nothing... The next world record should be this: Deepest water balloon fight

Egyptian diver Wael Omar prepares for deepest dive of 400 metres

Well not so much! As humans we have been deeper, and more so, we have manage to get some work down there. The technique he is propably using doesn't push forward any of the science and the technology.

Egyptian diver Wael Omar prepares for deepest dive of 400 metres

I don't get the point of these records. It is plurely egoistic and there is no point getting down there, just being able to hold a shot line for a few seconds. Saturated divers have done it properly, and they are able to work at these depths! The science in diving knows all the dangers of...
