    Gear pockets with BP/W

I much prefer suit integrated pockets, but on the rare occasion I get to use my 2mm suit in warm water, I bring an „IST dive holster“. Works better for me tas DGX tech shorts did because I was between sizes on those and they seemed to just not fit right, seemed way more stretchy than I like...

A Scuba Diving Instructor Salary Explained - How much do Dive Instructors earn?

@wetb4igetinthewater I am well aware. I see it very similar to how you do (and I am old enough too). FYI: I did not write more about how I feel and why, because, a: who cares and b: I nevertheless was trying to hear from the OP how he might substantiate his claim. Age old habit of shining a...

A Scuba Diving Instructor Salary Explained - How much do Dive Instructors earn?

Wow, that is quite the “article”! Even so, I felt I am reading more of a recruiting pamphlet than an article, I read it to the end, because I was trying to understand how you substantiate the statement you make in the second sentence. I failed. So, how do you substantiate this quite substantial...

Sea snakes attempt mating with scuba divers

For lack of an UW Procreation sub forum I was not quite sure where to post this. Since I choose to post this here, allow me to ask those in the know: Really? Sexually frustrated sea snakes mistake scuba divers for potential mates | Live Science Sexually frustrated sea snakes mistake scuba...

Citizen scientists find massive coral on Great Barrier Reef

Cool, but: Definitely too close for my taste at 0:07 Makes me wonder how much touching and kicking might have occurred (cut out or off camera).

Is it possible to travel responsibly (during a pandemic)?

Interesting. I will need to look into that, as I am going to Germany (and hopefully not only there). Read that FFP2 and N95 are practically the same thing but that in places were one is required, the other may not be meeting the requirement if it does not (also) show the actually required cert...

Is it possible to travel responsibly (during a pandemic)?

Haha, I hear you! I at times catch myself playing strap puzzle with a sun-hat with chinstrap to keep it from flying off, glasses with a neck cord so I can quickly dangle them on my neck when wanting to use the camera viewfinder and then a mask straps over the ears. Invariably something gets...

Is it possible to travel responsibly (during a pandemic)?

Ditto. Addendum: I actually have not tried for a really extended period of time (many hours, whole day). I maybe should. They are just inconveniently bulky on the road / hiking etc… But even short term, they (the ones I did try) feel sweatier than the surgical masks.

Is it possible to travel responsibly (during a pandemic)?

Back to traveling: If you do/ did and had or chose to wear a mask, what kind do you prefer and why so? Here is why I ask: Just came back from Hawaii (to Midwest) and need to fly to Europe mid next month. In the past I tried the surgical style paper masks with bendable wire clips over the nose...

Another lens...

"Right to Repair" - Potentially great news for DIY!

To those that seem to oppose the government being involved in pushing a „right to repair“ of sorts, what exactly is the issue you see? Surely, you cannot possibly think you are the only one capable of repair or of finding someone who is? Big part of the point supposedly us that parts should...

    Compressor for now and later?

Disclaimer: I am not really that knowledgeable on the topic (compressor or boat) and just have a smidgen of an idea (always a dangerous thing), but something you wrote (maybe I misunderstood) has my neck hair raised: If I were to put a compressor inside my (non-existent) sailboat’s hull, I would...

    Info O-rings for Divers

Please do! DIN first stage threads: I read about it in the past, came away thinking I should leave them dry, but still wonder about the wisdom behind it. It still seems to me I might be inviting trouble. So far, I left them dry, in my case just the DIN first stage in the valve or, possibly...

Thanks. Timely. Will be there in a week. May get to do some shore diving. All we need is air, tank and weights … and shore access at decent sites. Did you do any of / do you plan to do any if your own shore diving? Addendum: Was your first guided diving shore diving? If so, with dive flag in...
