I have seen videos of "condemned" tanks that merely had a very fine thread of metal left from the valve thread. It is very common in mechanic work to find a very fine wire on threads that could be mistaken as a crack.
I buy cashmere and wool sweaters from goodwill for like $8. Get a seamstress to make pants from a couple of them. I did my own. Don't look great but the warmest stuff around for dirt cheap. Wear wool socks. I tuck the pants into the socks. Makes donning easier.
Thanks for the input guys. the shop owner is also my instructor and we have become friends I don't think he's robbing me but he is a small shop, I think seac is robbing him. he does offer the class for free of I buy from him. I'm not impressed with Seac or their customer service I think I'd...
My instructor deals in Seac. I want to get my first dry suit soon. he says the Seac needs a fix right out of the gate. something about the rings. He'said offering the suit for $1200 which includes the class. he said they are good after the fix but it seems like Seac may not have the best...
Thanks for all the responses everyone. I am going to check some stuff out and try some new techniques now. Definitely see that my initial interest in having my buddy help with depth was probably a good instinct. I should have been more insistent. I don't feel like I was over weighted. I only had...
Thank you very much. I actually asked my buddy to keep depth and stay in my periferal field but that didn't work out. But I noticed I was having a lot of trouble just keeping my depth in itself. Do you control your depth with buoyancy or your finning?
I have been really trying to nail my navigation skills by holding a heading through blue water with a soft bottom to reach a part of the quarry we dive in. I have been having a lot of trouble keeping a depth. I slowly start to descend. Because my buddy wanted to stay above the thermacline, we...
Maybe a disconnect would be helpful. Instead of cutting it a boat owner could just keep the disconnect out and plug it in at the marina. Should be mandatory while docked
I wish the SDI nav course had went into detail about dealing with currents. Of course it is difficult to calculate exactly how the current will affect your course without having data on the current and also your own swim speed.
Maybe my instructor should have tested my abilities in navigation before he asked me to take it then. He could have taught me everything in the course in an hour.
I have a Seac. I would like for the shoulder straps to connect more forward onto the waste strap so my D rings are more accessible. When I play around with this, it seems to just pull the belt to high up. I guess the shoulder straps need to attach to the back plate behind the hip for proper...
I just got my first computer. It is a Cressi giotto. It's pretty simple. It pretty simple. I haven't got the interface yet so I can't tell you everything. I like the size of the face because it's easy to read. It have a protective lens cover that is replaceable. You can make it more conservative...
It was actually SDI. I think they realize that the subject is less than challenging because they made the questions confusing by the wording so you would miss some. I am interested in recovery and rescue at some point. I am in the process of joining our local volunteer rescue team. I look...
