Closed Atomic Aquatics ST1 Regulator with Z2 Octo

Atomic Aquatics ST1 Regulator with Z2 Octo. This is a very lightly used Atomic ST1 first and second stage sealed yoke regulator with a Z2 octo. It was serviced by Atomic in August 2020 including the hose recall (and has not been used since). This regulator is in excellent, near new condition...

    Tahiti Diving on Paul Gauguin

If I recall correctly it was an 8am start and 5 hour duration, so we got to the Motu around 1pm. That was in time for a late lunch, though things were winding down. The outside operator actually brought us directly to the Motu (and the PG folks picked up our gear at the dock). I'm not sure if...

    Tahiti Diving on Paul Gauguin

I just returned from a 10 day cruise at the beginning of the month. We did a two tank dive at Taha'a with an outside operator, though arranged as an excursion through PG. The diving was quite good but not exceptional. We had a bunch of black tips follow us around like puppies. It takes a...

    Need equipment suggestions

Definitely rent a 7mm wetsuit to start. You will only need to do it once or twice while diving below 20' to see how you handle a fresh water thermocline. In my case, I developed a sudden interest in a drysuit... but some of the people I was diving with were perfectly happy in their wetsuits.

Rubber Hoses - Flex over Time

Hi, just curious. Over time what happens to the flexibility of rubber regulator hoses? From new, do they "break-in", i.e. become more flexible? Or do they stiffen with age? Thanks

3mm full suit which packs for travel well

I hadn't considered Sharkskin or Lavacore, while I think I want my own 3mm full suit I'll have to think about it. @Altamira and @RIHappyDiver I have an LDS that carries Bare near where I work in RI, I'll have to stop by. Is the Reactive really that much better? @GreggS The Henderson suits in...

3mm full suit which packs for travel well

Hi - I've been renting 2/3mm shorties while on vacation in tropical waters. I've been getting a little cold so I'm considering my own 3mm full suit. My goal is a little more thermal protection as well as protection against scratches, stings, etc. Fit is obviously most important. Some brands...

    Closed: Zeagle Stiletto

I'm 5'10" and 185lbs and I have a medium - it fits well and is very adjustable. I'll be selling it for other reasons, but the fit was great.

    For you New England divers

Ocean surface temps can get up into the 60's or even low 70's in New England over the summer but temperature at depth will still be in the 50's, even 40's.

    Jacket Style BC for Travel

Thanks. The more I look at “travel BCs”, the more I think I’ll just lug around a regular oneo_O.

    Jacket Style BC for Travel

I want to bob like a cork in the ocean. Matter of fact, I'm going to get a yellow beanie so I can look like a yellow duckie out there. Well not really , but I'm trying to determine which jacket style BCs are suitable for travel. The Scubapro Go is a clear choice. But (for reasons I do...

    Float Upright BC

It's an interesting question. I am primarily a vacation diver and dive from boats. Obviously I want to have good trim underwater... But I also want to float with minimal effort when I'm on the surface during dive assembly and retrieval, which can take some time. The usual advice to back...

    Camera suggestion needed!

The GoPro Hero 6 is waterproof to shallow depths but you will want the additional Supersuit case for scuba diving.

    Camera suggestion needed!

Depends on your goals and expectations. Even my Hero 4 Silver with an inexpensive red filter and a little color correction, at shallower depths, takes stills that look great on my iPad as we share with stories with friends. The 6 is even better. If I were going to print with these, upload to...

    Camera suggestion needed!

Used GoPros are inexpensive on eBay. I need to sell my GoPro Hero 4 Silver, in fact, since I got a Hero 6 recently. They're not a "serious" underwater option but they're fun. I just clip mine off to my BC or loop in around my wrist, and use it when time and task loading allows...
