If you don't replace it (or carry a backup), you may have to call a dive (or more if you're remote) when it finally does fail. The Cobalt was a very cool step up from a dive console at the time, but lack of current support makes it difficult to continue with and most modern computers have moved...

Did the first shop ever give a more clear explanation as to how it failed (e.g. expanded by 10cc when only 8cc was allowed)? Did the new place test the same tank and find it to be within specifications? I'm curious what all went wrong.

This is a good price for the camera alone, or for the housing itself in like-new condition. Maybe add some pictures to help it sell? I'm surprised this is still here.

Looks like scubaspares.com is the best source for these. Not terribly expensive to buy the four parts, but a bit more than a screw-on DIN to yoke converter. Thanks again to runsongas for the walkthrough on the needed parts.

There are people who will pay $49 for a burger because it's supposedly the best in town without asking around to find out the $12 burger across the street is actually better, and then order two just in case. I suspect that is the target market for this BCD.

NWFlyboy, if your development time is so long it become somewhat of a moving target, too. A year ago, they didn't have the air integrated Shearwater Perdix to worry about, but the rest of the world just keeps getting better.

Yep, but the clip-on cables tend to be custom units that cost $100 instead of $10. If I were the designer, I would do what I could to provide some interface for PC download/charging that wasn't proprietary and expensive. If only it were easy to source a waterproof USB Type-C/Thunderbolt...

Rain, good point. It seems like it's more difficult to make a waterproof electronic connector than a waterproof battery cap, though. I like the way Shearwater does it, but BT LE may require an extra few bucks for a chip or have other factors that make it harder to implement in a more "budget"...

I'd be surprised if a device designed today still relied on some proprietary cable for a data connection - probably easier to just put Bluetooth LE in the device to start.

Not a bad idea - I'll be in Chicago in April, and may check with them then. It's becoming clear that if I want both I should have ordered the yoke version and a din conversion kit. Now I know for when my wife needs a reg set...

Does anyone sell a DIN-to-yoke conversion kit that will work with my XTX200? I've seen a handful of yoke-to-DIN conversion kits, but none the other way around. Thanks, John
