    Looking for a lightweight rebreather.

After some reading i think the only reason for me to buy a triton would be the Europe support. I like the specs of the choptima more. Hopefully divesoft will come with a CM rebreather like someone mentioned, eCCR and Europe support would be very nice.

    Looking for a lightweight rebreather.

When boat diving it's maybe possible to go with a small BM set. It's a very short moment of getting out of the water, although a lot will depend on the circumstances (waves, current, etc). The CM rebreathers being versatile is a big pro for me. Because i don't know exactly what the future...

    Looking for a lightweight rebreather.

I'm 176cm, bit on the small side for a Dutchie. But i read that it's very doable with the choptima. It would be nice to see them side by side and even nicer to try them like that hehe, but thats not an option. I wonder if it's easier to manage stages on the choptima if its slightly more flat.

Thanks, It's good to hear user experiences. I wonder if the flood recovery is better on the choptima. I can imagine that chest clutter is definitely a hard one when managing stages. Will probably take quite some dives to get the muscle memory. At points it will probably feel like starting...

    Looking for a lightweight rebreather.

A CM divesoft would have my interest. If its compact, light and well build. I prefer shearwater electronics, but a Divesoft rebreather would be more convenient for Europe based divers.

    Looking for a lightweight rebreather.

Normally i make all my dives with a camera. But it's heavy on land, especially in combination with doubles. If dropping the camera is what it takes so be it (although that would suck) In The Netherlands the salt water diving spots almost always include dyke's, which would become a problem...

Did the triton also have some cons to you? Things you would like to see different? And What unit trims out the best for you? I do prefer an eCCR, but its not like a dealbreaker if it isnt.

An el cheapo flight to the USA is a good excuse to have an extra vacation. I hope my wife doesn't read this thread:cool:. I agree with the service intervals, every year is probably a bit much. I have some SM experience and I know it takes a bit longer to dial everything in. At least that was...

    Looking for a lightweight rebreather.

CE isn't really a point for me, and I won't be modifying units. The biggest challenges is also support/maintenance on the optima cm. Do you travel for maintenance or do you send the unit to usa? I agree with the eCCR, its also what I'm used too. With the triton/optima cm i do worry a bit about...

    Looking for a lightweight rebreather.

Hallo rebreather divers, About 6 months ago, i ended up with 2 herniated discs in the lower back. I'm still in recovery, but it's slowly going better. Since I have much time on my hands atm, i was looking into possibilities to keep diving in the future. I don't want to take the risks and use...

    GF LO

I started off with vpm+2 (buhlmann 20-85) Later changed it to 35/80 Never had signs of DCS that i know of. I think it's a complicated subject. It's different for every person, but it's also not a thing to play around with to see what happens. An instructor who makes deep dive's almost every day...

    GF LO

35/80. Edit: I think it also depends a lot on what kind of dive it is. Some serious deep diving is different from some light deco dives (up to 15 min of deco).

If you could change one thing about dive training...

I see more use for the nitrox in AOW. I think the basics lack in most OW classes, trim/buoyancy/finkicks. But when i look back on my OW class, the instructor's lacked in those basics as well. The problem is that it's hard to recognise a bad instructor when you just start your first course.

If you could change one thing about dive training...

While i do hold gue certification's (anti air), i don't agree with air being a lousy diving gas. It's cheap, easy to come by and is more than enough for most of the dives. Why should i fill my tanks with nitrox when i stay within the 15m range? or even 20m? Some stores also blend with pure o2...

My rebreather class report (and first rebreather dive).

Hey, thanks for your reply. The loop volume when ascending and o2 injection is something to think about, going to inject o2 manual the next dive and play around with it a bit. Descending never seems like a problem, and it's mostly very controlled. The real taskload for me is when ascending...

My rebreather class report (and first rebreather dive).

About a year ago i posted a thread on this forum asking for advice on rebreathers. I came to the conclusion i wanted a well maintained/not to old inspiration. It is what my buddy is using and it's an affordable machine. I live close to the uk and we have a AP dealer in my country as well. It...

    Quality ikelite housing

Thanks for the advice, i ended up buying a OMD1 mii with a nauticam housing. Got the 12-42 ez lens with the ucl165 and a 60mm macro lens. Really happy with it, hope to get some hours underwater time soon!
